I have no idea how I would score that 1st round. GSP put Penn up against the cage quite a bit, but could not secure the takedown. Penn also did alot more damage when he did this. However, GSP probably had a slight advantage when they were not against the cage.

Very, very, very close round.

2nd round was no doubt though.

Penn is gassing. I doubt this fight goes the full 5 if GSP keeps taking him down like this and imposing his will on him.

Oh, without question.

3rd round is all GSP again.

If I was scoring, I would say 30-27 GSP so far. But I could understand if someone had it 29-28 GSP since the 1st round was that close.

Like I said before, Penn's best weight is at 155. Pierre is just too strong for him. Like the announcer's said, Georges walks around at 185. Penn has to blow himself to make 168. Both great fighters, but the size difference is too much.

Fight over. Ref stops it after the 4th round. GSP just broke Penn down mentally. After all this crap he talked when he said he would not quit and he just did.

I know BJ was getting dominated, but after everything he said I must say I lost a little respect for him.

can't really blame him for quitting he was just going to get taken down again and dominated for another 5 minutes, not like he would have submit or KO GSP in the 5th after being dominated like that for most of the fight

There was no way Penn was going to win this fight. One more round could have hurt him for life or Pierre could have even killed him.

Alves will maul gsp

You just watched that fight and saw this? GSP will take down Alves at will and absolutely wreck Thiago.

GSP would even likely wreck Anderson Silva if he is on top of his game like he was tonight.

GSP's performance tonight was probably one of the best and most dominating performances in a title fight I have ever seen. Incredibly, incredibly impressive.

Where I come from that was what we call a good old fashioned *** kicking.

That guy would be hard to beat.

:laugh2:

You are just being over tad bit over-dramatic.

BJ was completely gassed and knew he had nothing for GSP. He quit, plain and simple. And I'm a hardcore BJ Penn fan saying this.

I can't believe people still take that Serra fight and act like he has a horrid chin. If one fight makes someone have a horrid chin, I guess Nog has a glass chin as well after Mir knocked him down time after time. You are losing the meaning to 'glass jaw'.

Have you watched Anderson's takedown defense in the past? It is absolutely horrid and the one overwhelming glaring weakness in his game. If the fight stays standing, then yes, Anderson has an overwhelming advantage with his superior striking and Muay Thai. However, why in the heck would a completely superior wrestler like GSP keep it standing?

GSP's top control is second to none. The only person who likely compares in terms of relentless GnP and ability to pass is Fedor. And after the performance GSP put on tonight, he may have even surpassed Fedor with his top game.

GSP would have Anderson fighting off his back the entire fight. Unless Anderson can catch a surprising submission against another BJJ black belt in GSP, he isn't winning that fight.

That could very well be the point, but I didn't mean one more punch would have killed him. Pierre took him to the floor easily. He would have taken him down again. Elbows cause alot more head trauma than boxing gloves, even the MMA gloves don't take any of the shock of a hit away. If Pierre would have hit him with another 3 or 4 good solid elbows, he would have gone home with a concussion if he doesn't have one already.

:lmao2: you so funny tonight. gsp beat a smaller man again. Alves and especially Anderson are not smaller guys than him. you're underestimating Andersons ground game. Anderson won't just give up and lay there like bj did or Alves for that matter. BJ has been overrated for a while and got exposed tonight in a weight class above his natural.
