I can't speak for anyone else and how they choose to judge.

I choose to use logic and reason for myself, and that means recognizing that it's a team game.
Just because others choose a poor method of evaluation, doesn't mean that you or I need to follow their lead.

I personally do not regard Brady as the best ever. My evaluation is based on his play, not his team's success.

You make excuses for Dak's play with his WRs, but the WR problem in Washington was real. Reed hardly ever plays a full season at TE and their best WR was a guy in Crowder that didn't even start but 6 games and netted 780 yards.

Kirk got it to Crowder as much as Dak got it to Dez in thirty less attempts and he wasn't even a starter.

You're using an extremely small sample size for Dak. Kirk has been in the league for 6 seasons now with his best season that you mention coming in his 5th year in the leauge. Also, you can't hold Dak responsible because Dallas how a more balanced offense than Washington. You're also leaving out that Cousins is one of the worst Red Zone QBs in the NFL & that he fumbled the ball 13 times last year.

With respect to the team aspect, Dak has beat him head-to-head the four times they've played.
 
I think brady is the best qb ever to play in the nfl. and belichik the best hc coach ever. he even must be considered as one of the best gm's ever as well. hardly seems fair given that we're saddled with garrett and jerry.

No one throws a bad pass on a highlight reel. That's why they are called highlight reels and not lowlight reels.

Keenum, Bortles, Foles perhaps or Wentz, and even Bridgewater could well be on the market. Some of the QB needy teams might take the bait and sign some of these type guys. That could mean that the draft could be really interesting. It would not surprise me to see a couple of rookies QBs drop down the list on draft day. Some smart team may get some real QB value late in the first round or even the second. As far as the Cowboys "getting Cousins" goes, forget it. It is not happening. Next topic, please.

Foles is not going anywhere unless a team gives up a good draft pick, and no way in hell Wentz hits the open market. I'll take Dak over any young QB in the league except for a healthy Wentz.

Sometimes people use head to head when comparing QBs. Then other times "well uh, it is team game you know?".

Just stop.

Dak may be mediocre but if you are gonna throw 30 million dollars a year at a QB you better be getting tom brady or aaron.

I agree. I would like to see competition there as well. However, I can't help but notice something stark between last season and the 2016 season. In 2016, Dak Prescott had Tony Romo and Mark Sanchez as backups (along, of course, with Kellen Moore). Those were experience veteran Quarterbacks, and Dak Prescott had arguably one of the greatest rookie seasons in NFL history. In 2017, Dak Prescott's backups consisted of Kellen Moore and Cooper Rush. Not exactly experienced talent. Therefore, I can't help but wonder if Dak, like many QBs INCLUDING Tom Brady (whom he was compared to early on), needed the assistance of a veteran QB as a backup. Let's not forget, Tom Brady early on not only had Belichick, but he also had Drew Bledsoe as a veteran QB. I saw a thread in which someone proposed Sam Bradford as a backup to Dak. While many seemed to disagree with this notion, I agreed and still do with that poster for the previously mentioned reasons. For a young QB, the influence of both a coach and a veteran QB can be a stark reason for success. Was Bledsoe the entire reason for Brady's success? Of course not! But, a veteran QB like Bledsoe can help a QB understand the ropes of being a QB in the NFL. As bad as Vinny Testaverde was as a player, Tony Romo learned a great deal of what it means to be a QB from Vinny, as Romo himself mentioned. Sam Bradford, when healthy, is a very solid QB. Naturally, we wouldn't be asking him to start. What we WOULD be doing by bringing him on would be to have him as a veteran influence for Dak. He'd be the person helping to calm Dak down in critical situations as Romo did for Dak in 2016. He'd be the person who Dak could learn from in training camp. After all, I'm sure Dak learned a great deal from Romo before Romo's injury. Even just listening to a veteran QB can be quite the educational experience for a veteran QB. Therefore, I think Pappy is on the right track in a sense with a veteran QB like Cousins. However, I'd rather have Bradford who is more proven and can be a better influence on Dak.

Let's also not forget that even Tom Brady had a rough sophomore year as a starting QB. Yet, he, like Dak, finished 9-7 in his sophomore campaign. Thus, a rough season for a young quarterback is expected. I fully expect Dak to have a better season this season. However, as mentioned, the presence of Sam Bradford would behoove Dak in his development as a player.
 
What a horrific thread. No matter what you think of Dak, we're paying absolutely nothing for average AT WORST QB play over the last two years (25 fantastic games, 8 poor games). Why would we want to pay top dollar for average to slightly above average QB play?

This is a disastrous idea. I'd much rather let Dak continue to develop or falter on the cheap.

The problem with bringing in a vet like Bradford is going to be the cost. Bradford was doing well for Minny before yet another injury so he is going to want a big pay check. There are several QB needy teams this year that have the $$$ to throw at these Vet QBs, I don't think we can afford to out bid any of them if we want D_Law and Martin to sign on the dotted line.
