I'm tired as hell of some of the posters on this board and their attitudes.

Every other thread is by someone who is "scared" or "worried" or someone who is "going to go ahead and say 'it'". It's all rhetorical B.S.

The season hasn't even started yet. And people are making posts about how they know we are doomed because they are worried about the vulnerability of our back-up equipment manager or some other nonsense. We have fans who grossly over-estimate their ability to evaluate football players and systems while, at the same time, drastically under-estimate the ability of the professionals who our team to see the same thing. We have fans who have determined for good a player's worth without even playing a down. We have fans who think players fall apart if they are over the age of 24. And the worst of all? The morons here who feel that our team is somehow deficient unless we are 3 deep of 21 year Pro Bowlers at every position.

Get some freaking perspective! Quit demanding absurd things from this team. Reserve your judgment instead of popping off about something that will only result in you having your foot in your mouth at a later date. Here is a free hint: if you think you have spotted something that is the Key To It All... something that is the easy solution or evaluation... and it isn't something that everyone else is saying, then you are probably wrong. And one more basic precept: not everyone shares your opinion so don't confuse "Me" with "everyone."

Now, don't confuse my point and think that I am saying I want nothing but homer posts by people saying how we are going to go 16-0. I don't want that garbage either.

It would be great, though, if as fans we could be mature enough and show enough football acumen to not be irrational morons about things.

Be reasonable. Be practical. Show some insight and quit being rhetorically asinine.

No. If you read my message, you'd understand what I am saying.

A forum doesn't require the nonsense I was referring to above.

A discussion of the roster or a system or about the past or something is just fine. Asking about a player and how they might fit our roster. Talking about whether one player over another should start. Talking about our realistic chances next week. Those things make sense and are what makes this forum great.

It's the stupid "OMG HERE IS SOME OVERSTATED RHETORICAL NONSENSE BASED ON ONE LITTLE THING I SAW" that this forum can do without. The forum can do without the idiots who think they have fully evaluated and can speak definitively about a player who hasn't played, about how our system is clearly flawed, about how our coaches are clearly morons, about how teams are going to clearly destroy us, or some other ignorance. And the morons who think we need 23 year old pro bowlers 1st-3rd string or else they are going to be "worried" about them.

In other words, this forum would be great if people would think before posting and apply some perspective and thought to something instead of just tossing out whatever little random nugget of ignorance that crosses their mind.

Most of the "chicken little's" are very young or actually fans of other teams.

Veteran fans do have a better perspective of the overall picture.

Look at it this way.

It's like walking into a donut shop. You go in, and you know you want the chocolate covered. But you look around, and you see all sorts of cream-filled, lemon flavored, pineapple-covered crap, and you think...wait, this bothers me.

So you decide to do something about it, and you say in a loud voice to no one in particular, "Enough of that cream-filled crap! I've had it up to here!" And yeah, maybe there's somebody else in the store who feels the same way about the cream-filled crap, but never spoke out, just always paid for his glazed and went on his way.

Does that person feel like now he has a voice, and you are it? Are you his champion? Probably not. More likely, he's thinking, "hope this crackpot doesn't have a gun," and casually heading for the exit.
