What do you see that tells you he can only get better? Alot of analysts said that Harrington and the Lions would break out this year. They also picked Arizona to break out. How does that make their opinion any more valid than mine? I've probably seen just as much of Eli as they have, and unless one of us has a crystal ball, neither group can know for sure. I've presented concrete evidence for my belief, you and whoever these analysts are only have the assumption that he'll get better. That's not trusting what you see, that's trusting what you believe will happen, which in this case, doesn't seem to be based on what you see.

I saw where he started with the giants in year 1 and saw him play in year 2 and saw many improvements in his game. I think Eli is a smart young man who will improve his reads and I think he has a good arm and he is with a good organization with some fine coaches who will continue to work with him. As for concrete evidence you have not given nothing but a bias opinion and your own hatred for Manning for what ever reason.

So it's my biased opinion that he's inaccurate? It's my biased opinion that he struggles making reads past his 1st or second reciever? It's my biased opinion that he makes terrible decisions - frequently? It's my biased opinion that he was one of the worst QBs in the league following the Giants bye week? Sorry, those aren't opinions, they are facts. Facts=concrete evidence. When you start saying things like "I think", those are opinions. I'm sure plenty of people thought Jeff George was gonna tear it up.

And how many times do I have to say that I have no real bias against Manning whatsoever? I think he's a good guy. Aside from the fact that he plays for the Giants, I have no reason to not like him. Guess what? Shockey and Tiki play for the Giants too. Does that cause me to bash THEM? Can you only be unbiased if you predict good things for a player, and ASSUME that he will get better? Isn't that, in effect, being biased?

What BS? This is a forum, isn't it? It's meant for discussions like this. I think Manning isn't gonna be that great, you think he is. I've presented my reasoning, you've presented yours. The difference is, that I've used facts, and you're just speculating on what might happen in the future. Either one of us could be right, I'd just rather stick with facts. You continue to claim that I have some sort of bias, or personal grudge toward Manning, simply because I don't praise him, and predict greatness for him, which is just ridiculous. To think that something like that is true, is just uninformed, if you've actually read what I've typed.

I don't hold that ridiculous photo against him. I'm sure I looked like that plenty after a night of drinkin. It just happens.

4th most TD in the NFL this season but I'm sure you will say but he has talent around him well the 3 guys head of him also have talent on their teams. Manning helped his team to the playoffs in his 1st full season but again you will say but he had talent around him well so do the other playoff teams. So why continue throwing out stats to defend him when you have already stated but he has talent around him as if no other QB had equal or better talent around them.

With all due respect, McNabb has some skins on the wall. Eli has nothing but media hype.

When McNabb was at the same point in his career as Eli is now that is all McNabb had was hype.

With all due respect, McNabb could atleast run and make plays while being inconsistant and idiotic at throwing the ball.

Eli is being idiotic with throwing the ball, and has nothing else to compensate for it.

McNabb was completing 58% of his passes by his 2nd year.

Eli is barely at 52%. He's has a worse completion % than Vick, even in Vick's 2nd year. And he's got two 6'5" targets to "throw" to (I use the term "throw" loosely).

Shockey, as much as I hate him, is arguably the best TE in the league, or right behind Gates. Plax has enormous talent, even if he does half-*** it alot. And Tiki is ridiculous. And yet Eli was the 23rd ranked passer in the league. I bet Joey Harrington and Tim Couch could have put up similar numbers with THAT offensive talent.

Drew Henson couldn't.

Doh! I just opened a can of worms.

With all due respect McNabb was still all hype his 1st 2 seasons and made bone head throws just as well. It is part of growing as a QB. I agree Manning has made some mistakes, thrown some ill timed passes that have been picked so did McNabb. Manning also showed the ability to lead comebacks this year posting some very good 4th qrt numbers for the Giants. If I were a Giants fan I would think the future looks pretty bright with Manning leading this team. I know I felt that way when I watched Aikman even though his 1st couple of years were pretty rough.

I just don't see the comparison. I do agree that Eli has serious upside, because from what I saw, he makes fast decisions (although he can't seem to get it there alot of times) but I think their's something there.

But McNabb to me is still a scary QB and especially for next year. He'll be healthy, and his ability to buy time and just make something happen out of noting is something I'm not looking forward too next season. BTW, the NFC east next season is going to be an all out WAR!

I was not knocking McNabb only stating a fact that as a young QB he had his share of problems as do most. As for facing both Manning and McNabb I look forward to it, I think our young guys on defense will be a lot better and will have a better understanding of what they are doing and will be able to react instead of overthinking. As for War next year in the NFC East I agree I think our division will be considered the best division in the NFL next season and I look forward to see how we matchup.

Giants problem is that their two big players Barber and Strahand are on the far side of their best years.
Yes - kill me on this one

By the time Manning hits the top level - they will be going down.
So the Giants are hit or miss.

Same for the Skins in reverse - Brunell will hold onto the starting QB position for next year and their drafted QB replacement is still two years off.

Doomsday-- I think you and I are in the minority on this one. I also think Eli will become a top NFL QB. Troy was 8-24 his first 2 years, but you could tell he was going to be good. To me, its the same with Eli.

I agree. As for being in the minority all I can do is say I call them the way I see them and in the case of Eli I think he will become a very good QB. I also think Eli has some very good people with the Giants organization who will help him to develope and yes I think his big brother will be helpful in his developement.
