Not sure what you mean by the Pierce 'rumor'. They showed Bloomberg and an assistant on the national CBS news the other night and the obstruction charge was mentioned by them in regard to Pierce.
Maybe it doesn't happen, but its not some rumor started on a message board. It is a possibility.
I don't think losing Burress, or Pierce, is going to sink the giants, though. They are playing well, better than anyone else in the league right now. (Remind you of any other teams last season, maybe NE or Dallas?)
What will likely sink them is just the fact that it is hard enough, mentally, to win 1 SB. The challenge of getting to two SBs in a row is so difficult that few teams do it.
I expect the giants to crack somewhere in the playoffs. Teams that make SBs in this day and age all walk a fine line of keeping themselves on track long enough to get there.
Giants did a fantastic job of getting hot at the right time last year and walking that line.
The odds against them this year are significantly greater.

What would Eli's status be be Tyree didn't make that fantastic catch, and as LUCK had it, the ball did not touch the turf.

the play before that was a horrendous throw that should have been an easy interception ending the game. instead it went right through samuels hand.

Had He caught that eli would have recieved all the blame.

it was meant to be.

Hopefully it turns out that way for us soon.

Don't mind that , but don't come over here and spout off.

I personally don't want to here about the gints on this forum.

I don't sense any of that. I mean, the Giants are pretty damn resilient this year. He's politely telling us not to get our hopes up, and he may be right. He's also right when he notes that we're the one team capable of derailing their championship dreams. The Sunday night game will tell us more.

Didn't take long for the Giant fans to become as smug as patsys fans. Winning is a heck of a drug.

Yes, because the Giants 11-1 record this year simply PROVES how the Giants were such a fluke last year.

But anyway, I will go away now.

I wish all of you Cowboys fans luck with regards to all aspects of your life, except football of course.

Looking forward to the Sunday night matchup.

Peace.

"Eli has better numbers without Plaxico" for one reason and one reason only.... Look at the rushing numbers with out PB in the lineup. Teams are stuffing the run when he's not there. There is no real fear in putting 8 in the box without him. How does the #1 rushing offense in the league struggle to put up 100yds in the last TWO (PB has missed 2 games, not the 3 that you speak of) games with out PB. If I had my choice to make Eli throw or let your team run all over my 6 or 7 man fronts, I'd make Eli throw every play....

BTW, can anyone name me one QB in the league who has more int's dropped than Eli?

They are no fluke. No doubt about it. You don't lose a Osi Umenyiora and have a Michael Strahan retire and not lose a step if you are a fluke.

The Giants play well without Plax but the real test will be the playoffs. The teams will be better and they will be focused and game plan against Hixon.

I'll be rooting for you guys against the Eagles-frankly, I'm sick of all that talk how Donnie responded strongly from his benching by having a gangbusters performance against a mediocre Cardinals team at home, and how Reid supposedly showed incredible leadership by benching him...and b/c of all this they'll somehow run the tables for the rest of the year.

IOW-they lose this weekend, they can kiss all this goodbye, and we don't have to hear from them anymore.

I'm just waiting for the Giants collapse. I just hope when it happens the Cowboys can step up, win out, and keep their division title. Here's hoping for the Giants 11-5 and the Boys 12-4. That would make America happy.

It doesn't matter who the Giants lose, the team just keeps rolling. The Giants truly play as a team and not merely a collection of talented individuals. In fact, this is part of what makes them thrive.

That's some delusional thinking right there.

Remember this:

It doesn't matter until it starts to matter. And when it starts to matter, the bottom falls out.

Hopefully you come back to answer this one question: Why are you so sure Pierce won't be in trouble? That's what you said in your original post.

Pierce is in a lot of trouble as I see it. Not only did he obstruct justice, but if it's true that he put the gun in his car and drove it back to New Jersey then he committed a Federal crime too.

Why else would he be waiting so long to talk to the cops?

Enjoy watching Pierce this weekend because it will be his last game this season.

Everyone thought the Giants wouldn't do well this year when Strahan retired.

Everyone thought the Giants would implode when Plaxico started whining about wanting more $$.

Everyone thought the Giants were finished when they traded Shockey. Sure, he's a nutcase, but he's also a very underrated blocker in the Giants' run-first scheme.

Everyone thought the Giants were finished when Osi went down in preseason.

Everyone thought the Giants were exposed when they got exposed against lowly Cleveland 2 months ago.

Everyone thought the Giants would lose @Pitt, @Philly, and @Cards in each of those weeks.

Everyone thought the last minute Plaxico distractions + FedEx honoring Sean Taylor = Big Skins win.

As much as it pains me to type this...if the Giants hadn't imploded already, it's not like they'll fold like a cheap suit all of a sudden this late in the season.

Big Props to this team for weathing the storm and successfully playing with a chip on their shoulder.

BTW-welcomg to the Zone!:star:

Not me. There goes your "Everyone" theory............

Nice post for a rival fan. I don't agree with all of your points, but a good deal of them are good.

With that in mind.

You are about a week or so early.

I am not worried about the Giants game right now. I got my mind on this Sunday's game against the Steelers.

One game at a time with this team.

Either way, welcome to the board.
