Giants signing Chauncey Golston

So he’s not replaceable with a draft pick?
Or Lawson, Williams, Wheat, watkins is listed as a DE but not really more of hybrid. who are here.....or TBD by 5 months of the offseason still left LOL  CG was 3rd on the depth chart, i like him but these reactions are priceless..

How much you want to bet if we signed him, we'd have got that standard response,

we like our guys.....

I agree but we are gonna have some holes. It’s just gonna happen. Every team has them. So if I have to have a hole at my 3rd DE spot in favor of a DT or Lb.? I have to accept it.
I really wish we had done what San Fran is doing...blow it up and start all over. Keep your young guys that are the future and jettison the old. Take your lumps for a year or two.

We definitely did not get better today by losing Golston and Lewis and adding Williams and Jones.

Still early and a ways to go. But they need to find a few starters in free agency
You’d think after last years FA fail the dum dums would get after it this year. But it’s very clear they really either don’t have a clue or don’t give a crap. This fan base deserves better. I love this franchise so much and have for so long but it’s so hard continuing as a fan with the narcissistic idiots we have running the show.

DE is probably going to be the highest position on the board.
That will be the question. Who's available when we pick? It could be the highest-ranked running back. It could be an edge. It could be a corner. It could be an offensive lineman. It may even be a wide receiver, depending on how our board is stacked.

However, unless a top-five player falls, it is likely that there are going to be players of pretty much equal value available when we choose, so it comes down to which we need more. I think DE is lower on the needs list than those other positions.

I’m not arguing the Cowboys have gained an advantage. I don’t like their approach. But I do think letting average players leave isn’t what hinders us. It’s gonna happen. Good players will out price themselves eventually. You can’t keep them all. Cowboys just have no idea how to build a team.
When your team is under average you can’t afford to lose average players. I suspect the Dallas Cowboys are a team players would rather not play for. It’s not as much as they don’t seem to be doing anything to improve the roster. It’s that they seem to have no plan on what they want to do.

Armstrong has been good for the Skins, Hitchens was good, Chido was good, Marty B. Yes, these guys have gone on to have decent careers.

The deal Golston signed was reasonable. Lewis deal was too much.
Hitchens and Martellus won superbowls and Biadiz went to the NFC championship game.

3 years at $6M/yr is a win-win for New York and Golston. He's a rotational guy, the Giants will be rotating him behind Kayvon and Burns, and he'll be making rotational money.

You can replace these type of players with draft picks. The problem is that it costs draft picks. Picks used for replacements aren't being used for upgrades. If Dallas had the cap space, it could re-sign players like this and essentially "buy" a draft pick.
