I thought the 2001 Patriots were the worst team to ever get to a Superbowl. Now look at them.

How did this mediocre team get to the Sb?...I'm still baffled by this. They barely made it threw the regulr season and IMO got lucky to beat the Cowboys and needed bret favre to play like Eli Manning to win.

No way are they the worse team. Eli has had no turnovers, putting the ball where it needs to be for his receivers and the defense is playing their best ball right now. Think of them as the Steelers two years ago. They were playing average ball up until the latter half of the year and then they caught on fire.

We are still better than the Giants, beating them 2 out of 3 is no fluke. But the Giants are just playing good football right now. If this was basketball, we beat them in a 7 game series 4 games to 2, but it isn't so we are not playing in the Super Bowl.

Will the layoff hurt them, because they are on a roll right now? They certainly gave the Patriots all they could handle in the last game of the year. If it wasn't for a brain freeze by the secondary in letting Moss get behind them late in the game and they might have pulled off the upset.

The loss still stings, but take the emotion out of it and I think the Giants are a good team that is playing good ball right now and can play with the Patriots if they can keep the momentum going. As much as it pains me to say, I would rather the Giants win then the Patriots only cause I hate the Pats more!!!

The bottom line is the mediots were right: the NFC was a wide-open crap shoot and any team that got hot down the stretch could take it and that is what happened....

This thread reeks of jealousy, envy and bitterness.

If indeed the 2007 New York Giants are the worst Super Bowl team in history, what exactly does that say about the 2007 Dallas Cowboys.

Also, for the individuals throwing venom the 1985 New England Patriots' way, the 1985 Bears would have destroyed any team they faced in the Super Bowl. I think one must take that into consideration when looking at the 86 Super Bowl in hindsight.

To add, instead of sending such venom and vitriol the Giants' way, folks need to direct their misplaced anger towards Valley Ranch and the no heart Dallas Cowboys.

I actually think this has a chance to be a good game. With the record on the line, NE may be reluctant to be overly-aggressive.

Also, I think we played them the best out of their three playoff games. We should have beaten them, but even though they went to OT with the Pack, I felt they dominated that game.

The 1979 Rams who went 9-7 that season are the worst SB team ever.

People are upset now that #1 seed Dallas lost in the divisional round this year. Then #1 seed Dallas lost to those Rams in the divisional round.

Can you imagine what this message board would look like if it were around back then?

I bet Staubach would have been in the cross hairs because he went 13 of 28 for 150 yards 1 TD 1 INT.

Imagine all the "I am glad Staubach is retiring. Good riddance." posts.

"Trade Dorsett for a bigger punishing back." He had a good game carrying the ball 17 times for 101 yards and a TD.

"Tony Hill is never going to be anything special. Get rid of him." He had 1 catch for 0 yards.

"How the hell does the defense give up 21 points to Vince Freakin Ferragamo? Get rid of them all". Vince went 9 of 21 for 210 yards 3 TDs and 2 INTs

There might not have been message boards, but I'm pretty sure much of that stuff was being said.

I remember how absolutely stunning that loss was.

Ray Malavasi and Vince Ferragamo go into Texas Stadium and beat Tom Landry and Roger Staubach.

Somehow, the sun came up the next morning.

Sorry but I'm not playing that game. The first Patriots SB team was a 14 point underdog against the Rams. The Broncos were a 14 point underdog against the Packers. The last Giants team to win a Superbowl was an underdog versus the Bills. I've seen a lot of supposedly bad Superbowl teams win

I have to agree with most of the others on this thread.

The Giants are a good team.

They had their bumps throughout the year but overcame them. I was particularly impressed how they came back after suffering a tough loss to us in November.

I felt that the Giants were the second-best team talent-wise behind us in the NFC. They began playing with confidence and got on a roll.

I feel the fact that they had to fight to get into the playoffs helped them. We coasted and lost our edge.

I still feel we're better....and we were the only team that could beat us. But the Giants are a good team. They deserve to be there.

That SB team got shut out on offense. ZERO offensive points in the entire game.... IN THE SB???? :lmao2:

Uh, they got shut out by the Ravens defense... They posted 4 shut-outs that year in the regular season, and one of them against the Cowboys.... In the play-offs, two of the AFC teams scored only 3 points against them, and the Titans scored only 10 on them.

The Ravens defense was straight baller...

I really don't believe it had anything to do with coasting and losing an edge. It was just a matter of dropped passes and poor adjustments on the offensive line.

The two regular season games against the Giants were both tight at half time. Dallas made some adjustments in the second half in both those games that allowed the offense to bust loose. Both games were close even if the scores were double digit Cowboy wins. The final score doesn't always dictate how close a game is or is not. Dallas was able to make those types of adjustments in the playoff game and it cost them along with critical dropped passes.

I might be willing to buy that coasting cost Dallas if the Cowboys went out and got blown out, but it was a close game that truly came down to the end. The last three regular season games against the Giants came down to the 4th quarter. So did the playoff game.

I read something years ago that said when a super bowl team wins road playoff games to make it, that is the mark of a solid team. Don't count the Giants out.

Dallas lost to the team that made it. Get over it.

The whining from now until the draft is going to reach epic proportions...

it's not Jealousy it's anger!.

The best team in the NFC got caught sliping and lost a game they should of won, even with stupid penalties against them.

How did the superior( Yes SUPERIOR) Cowboys team lose to this!!!...Now I have to watch a average for the most part talent go out on the field and represent the NFC in the Sb...YES I am Pist, because the Cowboys should oe there...:(

I can't say they are the worst but they deserve to be there. 3 road wins in the playoffs deserve some props.
