And none of these students pay attention to the college catalogues, and what their expectations are regarding how much they need to study. often times, The financial implications dictate how a college rates the credit level. A 4 credit course in an Engineering program isn't equivalent to a 4 credit course in Criminal Justice. But that is besides the point. What we are talking about is your argument that college students don't have enough time to see their family.

What part of this don't you understand? Students go home all the time on the weekend. The majority of my friends when I went to school, who lived on campus, but had there parents in the same state, went home on the weekends on a regular basis. If not weekly, a bi-weekly basis. Rarely was there a time they stayed more than a month and didn't go home.

I can't define why they do it. Maybe they like home-cooking and they like their family. Maybe they are home-sick. Maybe they have an open relationship with their parents. Maybe they just want to get away from the social pressures at school.

The dorms are definitely not 'hoppin' on the weekends as compared to the regular school-days. Many students have part-time jobs on the weekend as well. Thursday is a major party day on campus, because many students on Friday leave early to go home. You'll see more people in the gym on a week-day than a weekend.

The fact is, there is plenty of time for Daughter Cowher to see Daddy Cowher if they live in the same area.

Yeah, I just work and live in a college town. What the hell do I know about college students? I just deal with them every day of my life. And not a single one of them goes home each weekend. In fact, many don't even want to go home for the Winter break.

Maybe your friends just go to lame schools where home is actually more fun?

Who in their right mind would create some rumor about seeing Cowher with his daughter, while they visited a University in the local DC area?

Let me throw this out.

Who in their right mind would arrange to visit a university when school was not in session?

Neither GW or GM are in session yet.

People visit universities to meet faculty in their proposed areas of studies. Attend various "open house" type events. Sit in on lectures, etc.

Seems a bit implausible don't it?

Maybe they just don't want to go home to work on the farm, so they stay at school and hang out at the 'happening dorms' playing Coleco vision. So which part of the boonies do the majority of these students live in?

I just recently graduated from UMCP, one of the largets universities in the United States, and so did my friends, menaing it is probably a much bigger representative of college than your sample size, including the sample size regarding their residential area. The school boasts a large fraternity population, well over 30,000 people, and is also considered a major party school. There are an influx of people from the NJ, NYC area.

I know what I'm talking about... Not only that, DC is loaded with places to party...

If a 30,000 plus college school is dead on the weekend, than I'm pretty sure I know what I'm talking about... And seriously, your saying the college my friends went to is a boring, and at the same time arguing that students study 45 hours based upon 15 credit hours. TAnd I'm out of touch with reality? Laughable...

It is obvious that there is a major generational gap between you and the majority of people at your place of 'work'... for you to even use the word 'happening' clearly reflects my point...

Did I say they visited right now? Did you read my post?

I very well know GW isn't in session, and for a matter of fact, they haven't been in session for two weeks. I was just right by there 2 days ago, and I was on their campus 2 weeks ago.

I thought the visit was supposed to have coincided with Cowher's negotiations with Snyder about a coaching position? There wasn't a position open until this morning.

No, the comment was that Cowher recently visited schools in this area with his daughter. As superpunk also pointed out, there was a rumor awhile back that he also bought a home in Leesburg.

All I was pointing to is that it seems he may have established certain ties in this area, which obviously would make the Commanders job a good fit for him. Fortune may have just fell in their lap because of these ties.

So Cowher somehow knew that Gibbs spot would be opening. That's funny b/c all the reports had it that he was staying and that his assistants were SHOCKED by his departure.

Is he just going to all the places where there MIGHT be an opening with her?

Can you at least let the man speak at his press conference first? I think he has more than earned his respect. This is hardly a Bobby Petrino deal here.

He said earlier this season that he intended to fulfill his contract. He is breaching his contract. I can't help but wonder if this was a forced resignation to allow him to leave with grace.

What does fortune falling in the lap of the Commanders mean? Does it mean that Cowher knew, or that circumstances have become favorable that the Commanders may get Cowher?

And it is obvious that if you are hanging out with people who are running home at every chance that you aren't with the "happening" crowd.

Let's see. Option 1: Mommy and daddy
Option 2: Drink, get high, and maybe get some lovin' all weekend

If your friends are choosing Option 1 then I have to say, THEY AREN'T YOUR FRIENDS. A real friend does not allow you to take Option 1 over and over. You are in college! Act like it.

How exactly would fortune fall in their lap -- is she admitted to any of these school yet?

Is Bill waiting at home with her, checking the mail, hoping she gets in?

What kind of coward tries to slander someone here when they have apologized and come clean?

I have no need to defend myself anymore. If you want to be bitter and angry, that's your problem.

But I can say whatever I want regarding the coach of MY TEAM. Got it?

Umm shouldn't this thread be in the NFL section, I swear sometimes I think this is a Deadskins forum...
Anytime a big move happens within our division, it's more than deserving of being in the Fan Zone. Gibbs resignation is big news. At some point, it will get moved. In the meantime, it is a discussion-worthy thread. So just continue to ignore it...

Guys-

All this speculation is fun but the reality is the next head coach is likely going to be Gregg Williams. For better or worse :)

And how does Al Saunders react to that??

Don't tell me Jason Campbell's gonna have to learn another system, LOL...
