I just heard on the local sports station here that there is a real possiblility that we are going to hire Cower and give him "keys to the kingdom," of course meaning coach and GM. Source also said Cower would become the first 10 million dollar coach.

Stay tuned.

I am sure Marty Schottenheimer has filled Bill in on exactly what it is like to work for Daniel Snyder.

reported on the local radio here in DC
It would actually crack me up if they hired him without fulfilling the Rooney Rule.

Pretty sure that's just speculation by the DJs. Especially since a HUGE story like that is not found on any reputable web site.

I agree. I learned a lot more than I bargained for.

Then get ready to get hammered for not following the R Rule

Technically, all they would have to do is a phone interview to avoid any problems.

Amazing. Thanks.

Anytime Bro. You're welcome.

A caller at a local radio talk show was saying that Cowher was spotted with his daughter checking out local universities like George Mason.

Synder will make a huge run at Cowher. He has the cash and it's a good team for Bill to return with. This frankly would be worst case scenario for Cowboy nation.

Great!

I think Cowher sits out 1 more year to see what happens in Carolina with John Fox, he's on a short leash after this year.:starspin

You are right, we did overachieve. If your team loses SIX of it's starters to season ending injuries (including your best player) and makes it to the playoffs then your's will be considered overachievers too.

And to claim that this same playoff team "probably won't win it's own division for years to come" is a ridiculous statement in today's NFL. The last place team from the NFC South has won it's division the next season like 4 years in a row now, just to cite one example.

Skins have nothing to be ashamed of this season. That was very admirable playing through all those hardships, earning themselves a spot in the playoffs. My hats off.

If it was a local High School it might have wings. Kids go to college away from their parents all the time.

Either that or maybe he wants the George Mason job.

Actually, the caller said that she was not just visiting George Mason, but was going to visit other local universities as well including Geogre Washington. Cowher left because he wanted to be close to his daughters, after missing a lot of time with them.

It could be nothing, but just wanted to throw that information out there.

Again, plenty of kids move AWAY from home to go to college. If she were visiting colleges in Dallas would that mean Wade is out the door?

I highly doubt that Cowher knew Gibbs was stepping down today. Yet the day it happens he is with her daughter on spur of the moment college trips? No, I'm sure they planned this trip without knowledge of the Gibbs situation. That's a coincidence, not a sign.

Other than a few random factoids, I didn't think it was any more informative than a CowboysZone discussion on the topic.

Well I know he has 3 girls. Two of which are already in college.

One of his daughters is in high-school, either a junior or senior. I think she plays sports like the daughter in Princeton, who is in her last year of collegiate b-ball. Cowher said he was staying out one more year, so if he is true to the statement, I don't think that Cowher coaching the Commanders is far-fetched.

Remember, Gibbs contract was expected to play out next year. The radio station was also reporting that Gibbs has some ownership rights in the team that extend into next year, and that is why he is going to continue as an advisor next season.

Cowher said he wanted to stay out one more year. His daughter that is a junior in high scool goes to college that very same year.

Whether it was coincidence or not, the situation plays out for the Commanders like the last piece of the puzzle.

Snyder may hire Greg for a year, and then bring in Cowher. The problem is, as one guy said, Cowher plays a 3-4. The Commanders personnel is a 4-3.

They may just hire an interim coach...
Are the helicopters blue like the sky in the daytime.

Sorry, that's such a stretch. I have no doubt Snyder will inquire about him. The idea that he is in the DC area to finalize a deal for 2009 is just pure fantasy.

IF He really is in the DC area at all. The caller to the local radio station may have seen Elvis last week and UFOs the week before.
