Gibbs steps down *Merge*

This makes me a tad worried. Gibbs was old school like Parcells.. Wanted to play close and grind games out. Never know what new coach could bring, hopefully more misery.

Dang. The only positive is that the time period of interviewing during the bye week has passed. At least the bastids have to wait to pick us apart until after the play offs.

No .... if he did not have Sean Taylors death to milk the skins would have folded last month.

Glad to see him go. Anything that brings misery and saddness to Commanders nation. I'm all for it.

Prepare yourself for the "gregg williams will be a better coach than gibbs" spin that will surely come spueing out of Commander fandom.

Well that sucks, I was hoping that he'd stay on as a skins HC for another 10 years.

Synder will make a huge run at Cowher. He has the cash and it's a good team for Bill to return with. This frankly would be worst case scenario for Cowboy nation.

Personally I dont think Joe Gibbs was milking anything. I believe his feelings were true.

Things like this never have been an issue for me. I guess I always figure that if the Cowboys take care of their own business it really does not matter which coach or player ends up with a division rival.

Not good.

Word out of Washington is that Synder wants Chan Gailey as GM and Dave Campo as coach. So, we should be all set for the next 10 years of Commander sweeps. :lmao: :lmao2:

Not worried in the least.

He sucks. If not for the ref's he goes 0-2 in SB... losing 4 or 5 AFC title games.

Please sign Cowher. The Skins have very little talent.

Make a list of more than a few good young players.

Landry.... Ok I am done with my list.

I thought Cowher was expected to sit out another year, which was why many speculated Gibbs would return for one more season.

Some also suggested awhile back that Cowher probably wouldn't take the Commanders job if it did open up because of the way Danny treated his good buddy Marty several years back. Of course I'm sure $$$$ would trump any hard feelings surrounding a friend.

Sucks? No. The guy builds competitive teams and did make it to the Super Bowl twice. There are A LOT of sucky coaches and many never even see the playoffs. Bill Cowher isn't one of them.

It doesn't matter who becomes head coach of the Washington Commanders. As long as Danny Snyder owns the team, they'll be mediocre. He brings most down to the level of mediocrity. Look at Gibbs. He really is/was an outstanding coach. The few that can actually do a good job (Schottenheimer) get fired before they can really get going.

Cowher and Shottenheimer are very close...

Many think that he would never take that job out of loyalty to Marty given the way Danny did him...

Guys-

All this speculation is fun but the reality is the next head coach is likely going to be Gregg Williams. For better or worse :)
