Guys-

All this speculation is fun but the reality is the next head coach is likely going to be Gregg Williams. For better or worse :)
We've speculated that already.

I believe GW's contract states that if he is not the next HC he gets an additional $1M ccompensation (or some amount).

I see that happening too.

And I think it would be for worse, but we'll see.

Man, Snyder must be stupid to offer a overweight talk show host that has personal issues $1M if he doesn't hire him as the next HC. That would buy a lot more personal issues... ;)

On that note, has The Hammer returned to the Ticket?

Absolutely! That's a no-brainer.

I can't help but remember the morning I heard the the word that Gibbs was returning to the Skins and going to the Skins' board to read the responses. What a day that was for Skins fans. It would be like Jerry re-hiring Jimmy.
The Skins fans were on cloud nine. It proves again that it's almost impossible to re-capture the magic of the past.

No .... if he did not have Sean Taylors death to milk the skins would have folded last month.
You are so right about that!.

Exactly. I am also a big Orioles fan. Do you remember when Earl Weaver came back there for a year with the team a mess? It was a similar experience.

I think Joe is getting the hell out while he can. He can leave claiming two playoff appearances in four years and avoid a tainted legacy for the most part. But it certainly wasn't that "magic" that I was hoping for.

I can relate. Parcells did not meet my expectations either. With some coaches I don't have them. With coaches like Gibbs and Parcells I think it is impossible not to.

I saw over at ES that Mort threw out a rumor of Pete Carroll, Surely even the Commanders aren't that stupid are they?. I can't imagine Bill Cowher working for Dan Snyder, but then I coundn't see Parcells and Jones either.:star:

Mike and Mike are pushing the Pete Carroll as coach.

Skip Bayless gets turned on by the idea of Snyder taking Jason Garrett. There is some speculation that snyder forced gibbs into retiring, and some talk about how the game has passed him by and coming back has aged him faster and took years out of his life.

Both ESPN Shows think Cowher will get a phone call from Snyder.

----

Cowher will get eaten alive in the NFC East. The Cowboys/Giants/Eagles aren't the Ravens, we can score more than 21 points in a season. The Cowboys/Giants/Eagles aren't the Bengals, they have had more than 1 winning season in the passed 10 years. The Cowboys/Giants/Eagles are definitely not the browns.

theres some sort of clause in his contract that states if he isn't given the job, they must pay him a million dollars or something of that nature.

but on another note.. :lmao:

I am confident the person who made this decision was not Gibbs or Snyder.

I am sure it was Gibbs' wife.

She has been on him to get the heck out of there and wants him back in NASCAR. They loved the NASCAR life and her particularly. I am not so sure she is all that fond of Snyder either.

But it was his wife who has been pushing for this for a long time and I know for a fact that Taylor's death has taken a lot out of him personally.

I'm not sure how much it matters who the coach is.

This is the Daniel M. Snyder era:

Norval Turner 32-47-1
Terry Robiskie 1-2
Marty Schottenheimer 8-8
Steve Spurrier 12-20
Joe Gibbs (Part II) 31-36

Total: 84-113-1

Personally I dont think Joe Gibbs was milking anything. I believe his feelings were true.

I believe he was saddened by his death, don't get me wrong ..... but he still used it as a rally cry to get his team to overplay their talent.

You can argue that Marty was most successful given his win %. I still think that was a serious mistake. They would have been a pretty good team if they gave him time to build.
