Glenn on Johnson

Sometimes you gotta give credit where credit is due. Andre Johnson is a good player and probably would have got his if Henry or Newman had been on him.

From my perspective, I can't see how even Champ Bailey could've stopped Johnson's TD on the quick slant either. Schaub threw a perfect pass and Johnson had perfect position. How could any cornerback have disrupted that pass-and-catch?

Why in the WORLD do we put 5' 9" Glenn on 6'3" Johnson? Its like last years Detroit game when Glenn ended up trying to cover Williams. That is ALWAYS a losing play. When we have a situation where we are up against a really big WR, the D coaches need to make SURE that Glenn is NOT the one covering him. If Newman is out, put Henry on him. OK so that means going maybe man to man- SO WHAT? Show some FLEXIBILITY people- that is supposed to be the NEW COACHES trademark- do not force the players into the system, use the players as their strengths and weaknesses warrant.

A.Johnson has speed he might be 6'3 but i think he will beat Henry thats why u saw Glen covering him, plus also remember that Glen played with Andre, guys knows each others moves

If you go back and look at the game again, 3 times all night we jammed the receivers, and 1 of those was with the first team.

You're putting too much emphasis on height. It's really just that simple.

Darrell Green was 5'8" 185 pounds. You wouldn't put him on Andre huh?

Henery is too slow to cover Andre Johnson and the usual suspects (Reeves, Jones, Thomas, Ball) all suck.

You are left with Glenn, who actually did a decent job last night. Nobody could have stopped the TD throw to Johnson with that big of a cushion.

1) It's preseason. It's hard to assume that anything that happened against the Texans would necessarily happen in the regular season.

2) Newman will likely be playing in the regular season.

3) Newman is smaller than Henry.

Do you really want the defense to be switching Henry to the tallest WR on the other side, even if Newman's available, simply because he's the tallest?
