Jerry isn’t going to say anything negative. Lance will never see the field during the regular season unless he wins the backup job and Dak gets injured. They could come up with a play or two for him as situational QB where he could use his legs but not sure he can even run very well after the injury he suffered. With Dak coming off a good season and looking at an extension I’m thinking Jerry may be regretting making that trade.

We may have won the Super Bowl with Lance last year.

Remember when Prescott cost us a title in 2016?
Ya, that 2016 team was ready baby but when you only score 13 pts in 3 Q of football, well you get the idea.
Dak doesn't do Shoot-outs they scare him..............You know like Deer and the start of hunting season.

I don't listen to this clown anymore, but I'd take about as much away from a Jerry evaluation as I would from Rowdy.

How do you evaluate someone who didn't take a single snap all of last season?

Pro-football-reference.com doesn't even show him playing for Dallas last season.
He did everything we asked him to do. He had a great attitude. He showed up everyday on time. He held a clip board. He watched inventively.

What else could have we expected in a trade at the end of preseason?

he's just glad you guys come back each year to listen to his words of wisdom.

Get that gear and shop at Gene's baggy butt jeans for your low-riding jeans.
You complain and ridicule the loudest, yet you keep following and watching. lol

Sweet talk build up Trey Lance as much as possible right now Jerry, then trade him before or at the beginning of the draft for preferably a 3rd Round pick or no worse than a mid-4th rounder. You seriously need at least another 3rd round pick or for sure an early-to-mid 4th round pick for this upcoming draft. Too many holes to fill. No room for a 3rd QB whose contract in 2025 jumps up to $25 million for that year alone.

Wonder what they're telling him.

Don't worry Trey you'll get an opportunity be our starter as soon as Dak decides to retire. No more than 9 years from now, unless he wants to be like Brady and play until he's 46.

Everyone can read between the lines, including Trey Lance. He's not getting a chance to be a starter here for at least another 4 years since Dak is not going anywhere (nor should he). Best thing Jerry can do is build up Trey Lance as much as possible right now, then trade him as the draft starts and get at least a 3rd or 4th round pick for him. Too many holes to fill right now for other positions of need with this team.

Why don‘t we go into our all-in season without Dak extending his contract?
Let him show something in the postseason, then we can show him the money.
If he chokes again we can give Lance a chance, in combination with a drafted quarterback maybe, and save us from long term financial damage.

The Cowboys declined the 5th-year option on Lance, so the 2024 season is the final one for his rookie contract .
