I might be wrong on the 3-4 Jersey thing. He might have every variation of Zeke's Jersey and an in-house Jobu shrine to Zeke. He's definitely an staunch supporter of the guy. Must be family of him. No other way to justify the support IMO.

I'm pretty sure that if the coaches had told Zeke that they thought he would be better served sitting out the Philly game he would have sat. But given that they were committed to playing Dak and the entire starting offense and Pollard was nursing an injury of his own so it would have been stupid to run Cory Clement out there as RB1. Keeping Dak from getting blasted ALSO helped the team's chances to win the playoffs.. though he didn't exactly light it up in that game either. You're mad at Zeke for playing.. Are you also mad at Cooper? Dak? Lamb? Schultz? Martin? Smith? Biadasz? and on and on? The coaching staff decided they would all play after pooping their pants most of the AZ game the week before. I realize that logic is lost on people like you.. but I am duty bound to present it anyway.

All of us should know how basic it is. Without a credible rushing offence, the opposing D suffocates the lanes and Dak might panic.

Now, I would like to believe in zeke, but I canna ignore his yearly declining numbers, his injury, the no-turning-back affects of age and his stamina after sporadic duty.

But, someone convince me and others that Zeke is a potential 1,500-yard rusher in 2022 over 17 games barring injury.
Tell me how a RB or any "skill" position can magically reverse time and production?
I want to believe in Zeke but common sense and logic stand at the door of the WalMart.

If Zeke falters, we are sunk like the Poseiden Adventure starring Ernest Borgnine and Stella Stevens.
Believe it. lads.

If Zeke has a good season - he may be back on a reduced deal. 2020 wasn't great but the QB play made it so that the focus was all on stopping him. 2021 he toughed out a PCL tear. Honestly, lots of RBs would have sat out but Zeke was willing to come in and work as a blocker while getting limited touches. Some games, that was his primary contribution.

There are few backs in the modern NFL who will do that.

He knows he's not getting a ton on the free agency market next year but I could definitely see him take a deal that cuts his salary to make it a wash vs. cutting him.

Even if he's great, he knows he can't be the #1 RB salary anymore.

Me fear is that Jerry, pigheaded and trying to slavage what dignity he has with the awful Zeke and his much more awful contract, will put us through another year of showcasing Zeke.
But does any one see a glimmer of hope that Zeke can perform?

Even if I agreed that Zeke is not as good as he once was, the only reason we are not getting elite back production from him is we don't want to. For the four week stretch when we leaned on him last season he averaged > 100 yards per game and ~ 6 yards per carry. If that's not elite I don't know what is. Once he got hurt and we could not longer lean on him the offense became far less productive and so did he. I don't expect Zeke to lead the league in rushing or anything close. That's not how this team wants to play football. However none of th at changes the fact that they paid him his contract on the premise that they were going to continue to use him in that manner. The fact that the Cowboys decided to go in a different direction offensively after signing him is not the least bit his fault and I refuse to be mad at him about it.
