Mike Golic is a former Eagle, so you know he hates Dallas with a passion.

he has picked the Boys to win the SB 2 out of the last 3 yrs...I've listen to him for years and he's as unbiased as they come...bad post

Dude, you are comparing a 1st string to a 2nd string. Check the Bears depth chart:

http://www.chicagobears.com/team/depthchart.asp

Click on TE - Olsen is listed as FIRST STRING. Of course you expect him to have more catches. Not saying Olsen isn't GOOD, but come on, the upside and athleticism that Marty B brings is certainly better than Olsen.

To actually compare someone to Marty B, compare him with there 2nd string, Desmond Clark:

Desmond Clark 6 catches 63 yards 10.5 avg 24 long 0

Marty is pretty comparable.
:spanking: BAAAAAD analogy.
The conversation was Olsen vs Marty B...period. I like Marty's upside but he has done nothing yet and a thousand players have upside....that's all it is for now. I'm pulling for him though.

How is it a bad analogy? He was 'proving' why the premise to compare Olsen and Bennett was stupid in the first place. No one here is saying Bennett is HOF already, just that using his stats vs Olsen's is worthless.

Congratulations you found dictionary.com.

It's not grammar smack. You don't use the word like you know what it means.... I've noticed the last 3 times you've used it, you have used it wrong. That's a problem with your understanding of vocabulary. There are plenty of indications that Dallas can beat Atlanta on Sunday. You either don't want to see them, or you don't know what the word means.

If you disagree with my statement fine, but stop acting like some sort of mental superior by making snide remarks about my word usage when I did, in fact, use the word correctly.

No back slapping here. Just offering the other side and some balance. The Cowboys are not what I believed they'd be. I'm not satisfied nor am I convinced we will turn it around.

I just get annoyed at overly negative imbalanced arguments. OK the Cowboys haven't beaten a quality team, but they haven't lost to a poor one either.
We can sit here all night and belabor the negative and what this team isn't. And that's ok because they may be a long way from SB caliber.

But perhaps they aren't.

Perhaps they are only a few plays away from 5-0. They're certainly closer to 5-0 than 0-5. Closer to 4-1 than 1-4.

It's my opinion that many fans on this site mistake a positive outlook as complacency.
Just because I come on this site often offering the glass half full point of view doesn't mean I don't want my glass filled to the rim.

This must play better to compete for a championship. No one can argue this point.

I understand what you want to say but in the end imo this is the wrong way to approach things.

This has nothing to do with having the right perspective nor with being too positiv or too negativ. This neither has something to to with being a good a bad or great team. Being a good a bad or a great player.

This is all about setting personal goals committing to it and therefor being ready to bring sacrifices.

Setting your personal goals has nothing to do with being logical. It has something to do with aspirations. And whats even more important - and i think most memebers of this board don't really understand - Not archieving your goals doesn't mean you are a bad player or a bad team!

Saying this all the talk about our team sucking or not means nothing. It's just the wrong way to approach things. But why do people do it ? Because they do the mistake i mentioned above.

But what are my personal goals for this team ? What do i expect for the Dallas Cowboys ?

I do expect them to win the SuperBowl. To do so being the best team will help alot. You don't have to be the best team always to win it but it will help alot. So i expect our team to be the best team.

That's what i expect. And every other outcome means that the current team is not good enough. Not good enough doesn#t mean they are not good or maybe even great. It simply means they are not good enough to be what i expect them to be.

Now someone can argue that my expectations are to high because of this or that. But you know what ? I think those areguments are all wrong. Just because you cannot argue about expectations. Either you want to be the No.1 or you want something else. It's your call make your choice. But if you made your choice show the character to stand behind it when you get the results of your efforts.

And if you didn't achieve your goals it doesn't mean you played bad or you are a bad player or anything else negativ. It simply means you werent't good enough.

We lost two games. To me that's not good enough. Could we won those games ? Are those teams we lost against very good teams ? You know what: I don't care! What does this conversation give me other then taking my precious time that i could use as a player or team to get better ?

As a player or as a team that wants to win a championship you can't have the feeling you are not good enough. But when you compare yourself to other teams and justify why you lost that's exactly your inner mindset. And that's the fist step of making losing a habit.

There is no sense in thinking about being good enough or not. There is only one thing to trying to achieve till it's really over: and that's your goals.

Fact. You didn't think that the status of Jerry Jones's bank account was an indication of his level of intelligence. That leads me to believe you don't know what the word indication means.

You used it again here. So I'm forced to ask myself: (1) is there really no indication that Dallas can win, because I just shouldn't watch if that's true; (2) is there an indication that Dallas can win, and you don't want to admit it; or (3) do you not know what the word "indication" means?

I won't believe number 1, because I'm a Cowboys fan, and all indications are that you seem to be one too. I'm going to watch the game regardless. It could very likely be number 2, but again, I wouldn't think that a Cowboy fan would choose to ignore a possibility of winning. But then again, it could be number 3, because you've used the word wrong before. Hmmmm, I think I'll go with 3.... otherwise, I'm just going to have to believe you to be a hater.

I'll stop acting like your mental superior when you stop making ridiculous statements. Most of the time when people make ridiculous statements, I feel compelled to point and laugh. But you're one of the last people who should be complaining about snide remarks on here.

Yep, Greg Olsen. Former Miami University TE. Solid TE with some athletic ability, nothing great.

Also, how is AMERICA'S post a joke? More than half of your posts are all about ridiculing your fellow Cowboy's fan. Now that is a joke.

Can't argue with that...Good post.

Golic is just bent out of shape, because the almighty Raiders beat his beloved Eagles.

I smell fear.
