Who cares who touches the ball the most? Should frederick be making $25 million a year? The difference between bryant and his replacement is miles greater than the difference between murray and his. Its silly that someone would argue for murray in thisndiscussion. They must be talking fantasy football.

I purposely included the skill player comment for this type of statement being included.

Dez is one of the best, but his touches are less than 5 a game on average.

Both Dez and DeMacro both have contracts on the table waiting to be signed, however they don't think it's enough.

You can't say that with any amount of certainty. Not if we remain a run first team.

golic is a former D l guy so they are always going to favor the more physical end of the game.

Golic might be correct for the era he played in. For this era Dez has to be the priority.

Yet why was it every big game fans here would say "Oh Dallas will have to run it 25 to 30 times to have a chance to win" lol I agree Dez is a priority but fans seem to have a short memory around here, we are a running team and much of the success we have had is the ability to run it 25 to 30 times to help us win games.

I would argue that a Cowboys wr corps lacking Dez Bryant would have a difficult time getting anyone open downfield with any degree of frequency.

Somebody has to run the route and accept the target coming from # 9.

The difference is the clutch play. Dez makes them in almost all conditions and that's why he is who he is.

With our line it will be easier to replace DeMarco's production (even if it is on a rotation). Dez is a talent you cannot easily replace.

Considering our receivers have a tough time getting open WITH Dez receiving all the attention I would hate to see how they would look without him. Bottom three in the league easily.

I don't disagree with that however I don't think any RB can do it, people want something cheap but not a higher pick and it is going to be great. I guess it will be should we then choose to be more of a passing team and less reliant on the run. Murray in my view is not getting the credit by a lot of fans that he deserves. People want this home run hitter but believe finding those guys who can block, catch and grind out tough yards all in one is not that easy to find

Here is my theory and many have touched on it

Dez is more important for the offense. During the Packers game they showed replay with the corner and safety bracketing Dez. There is a reason why Williams and Beasley came on all season. They had openings due to Dez.

Murray was a stud but he was never healthy until this year. Then we saddled him for 490 carries...120 more than h 370 threshold...and it worked. Problem is history has shown guy go down after that amount of carries. He may do decent but is 1000 yards good enough these days? We have a line and run a system. We don't do a pure zone scheme like the Broncos and then Texans did but we run a similar enough look where one cut runners work better like Murray. I believe with that line we can find a back that fills the hole, still gives us cap room and makes the offense work.

I'm actually pretty proud of Jerry for taking a cap friendly stance.

He and Stink were asked the question about who is more important for the Cowboys to sign between DeMarco and Dez. Golic paused, said thats a tough one but the Cowboys are who they are because of the run game so he'd go with DeMarco. Stink said he'd go with Dez because Dez is the best receiver in the NFL and just a physical freak.

If he truly believes that...ask him about the last couple 8-8 season Murray was on lol

Golic hates the Cowboys so taken with a grain of salt it deserves.
