Yea and we’re not the only team that’s gets screwed by referees.

My point was I don’t think it’s rigged I I just think certain officials don’t like certain teams
No argument from me. But being as the Cowboys are the most popular team in the country, “certain officials like certain teams”.

Yeah I don't think it's fixed and we're definitely not the only team that gets screwed. I agree certain officials don't like certain teams and I feel certain officials give better treatment to certain players. I can't think of the year but after a playoff game the Patriots won an official was caught on camera saying "congratulations Tom". I believe the Patriots did a kneel down and time ran out and as Brady was hugging his players the ref came over congratulated him personally. Seriously. Not a good look. Why did the ref congratulate any one else on the team? Did Brady play all the positions on the team. Things like that make me feel refs like certain people. It might not be a malicious thing or something that proves a conspiracy but it does prove their human and humans can have subconscious biases.

I used to do the taxes for a now-retired NFL official who would find your conspiracy stuff laughable. Let me guess, HE WAS IN ON IT! :muttley:

Serious question, why would you waste your time on a sport you truly believed was rigged against your favorite team? It makes no sense.

That's the fly in your ointment. You don't really believe what you're saying. It's a coping mechanism. Otherwise, you wouldn't even be here.

Because it's not 100% scripted like wrestling and not 80 % rigged like the nba. But when the refs are so involved in the game it loses credibility. They're so bad at this point I now agree with belicheck that everything should be reviewable. They need to get out of the way and

Goodell works for the owners. He’s a representative of the NFL entity and a corporate buffer between them, the people, and other organizations/corporations. If there is any “conspiracy” against the Cowboys it is with a select group of owners or with those who control Vegas and/or other monetary interests.

Just someone’s opinion. And the refs breakup lots of plays.
No. That’s called a fact because you and I can see it with our own eyes. An opinion? Come on man. You can’t be taken seriously on this take.

It’s much harder to be biased for your team. If some questionable calls came up and people that know the ref said “he’s a Cowboys fan” that would be a problem for him or her.

Much less likely people could point out that a ref doesn’t like a team.

I personally think it’s ignorant to believe in whacko conspiracy theories with absolutely no evidence to support that belief.
I agree...Since it's perfectly legal for the NFL and the refs to change the outcomes of games due to their status as an entertainment business. It's a "whacko conspiracy theory" to argue it hasn't ever happened.

And how do you know who doesn't like who? Since we're on a Cowboys board and that's who people would pay attention to, who are the refs that hate the Cowboys?

I don’t think it’s a Cowboy thing. Refs just suck and are inconsistent. Been this way for years and you can see it in any game you watch. The league should have revamped from the old insurance guy thing 2-3 decades ago. Make a model and school out of the system. Right now PI, holding, etc are called differently by each crew

On the other hand, the Cowboys are also the most hated team...but I still don't think that has much of an effect on the officiating.

We've also seen officials joking around with various players in rare occasions, even during the game. I know that's not quite what you're saying, but I'm making the point that they can be personable and even admire someone without favoring them.

If it's all rigged why bother watching. Anyone see how the refs tried to steal that victory from the guy they're supposed to be helping on MNF? Calling back the first TD he threw to Godwin with 19 seconds left? So what did he do? Threw another one.

I agree they can be personable and joking around. That doesn't raise eyebrows for me. When the Patriots score a touchdown in the AFCCG against the Jaguars and two refs participate in the TD celebration then that's a bad look. After the AFCCG a ref comes up and personally congratulates Brady. Again not a good look considering that game had several momentum swinging calls go the Patriots way. Again not proof of anything but it just doesn't feel right. The refs shouldn't be smiling and clapping after a team scores a TD. Doesn't look very neutral. The refs didn't celebrate with the Jaguars when they scored. If they did then I wouldn't have a problem with it.
