Sure they do. I know "rank and file" fans that have been to Super Bowls lately.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding your definition of 'rank and file' fans. It was my feeling that the 'rank and file' NFL fan was the one making a gross median household income of around 50-60K per year than can only really afford one home game a year anyway.

I have no idea why you're defining "rank and file fan" by income.

Maybe I don't understand the phrase 'rank and file.' I thought it to mean the average hardcore fan, which seems to me is the average working American, thus the average household income.

My point is that the average fan doesn't attend the superbowl as it is. Generally it is the wealthy fan and the corporate sponser. I don't see any reason the superbowl would have any less in attendance overseas.

That doesn't make sense to me. I don't guess you'd consider me to be a "rank and file" fan simply because I don't fit that income bracket.

It's not that it would have lower attendance overseas. It would most certainly sell out. That's not really an issue, I don't think, for most people.

it wouldnt. but the leauge would be taking so much away from the American cities where the superbowl should be played, just so THEY could make a bigger profit...

They don't care about their fan base...they only care about the money...

very sad.

Goodell is a fool and so is the NFL if they think Americans would tolerant playing the SB in another country. The NFL relies on the money they make from the networks showing football games. The networks pay that money because advertisers use it as a vehicle to sell their products. If American football fans got fed up enough to cut back on watching NFL, advertisers would cut back on their budget and the networks would cut back on amount of money they willing to give to the NFL. Goodell better be careful not to push this idea too far. Occasionally playing an NFL game in Europe during the regular season is one thing, playing the SB in a foreign country is something else entirely different. Like you said, I'd be furious if when the Cowboys make it to the SB that its played in another country.

It better not happen until every city that hosts a team now has had a Super Bowl.

No offense to London, but this is our game. Any voter who would choose London over an NFL city is a fool. If you want a neutral site then quit trying to put a team in Los Angeles and build a permanent venue there.

this is just plain retarted by goodell seriously wat he is trying to accomplish??? this is the U.S sport! Besides nfl football will never replace the real "football" that people around the world know it as and love with a passion. most people that would go to the game even in europe would be americans anyways so it doesnt make sense...

No, no, NO!!

Did I say no? THAT IS WHAT I MEANT!!!

Goodell is a fool if he thinks that that is the way to grow the league. The SB is what EVERY CITY that supports it's team and the NFL hope to EARN one day- a chance to host the NFL's biggest game.

Before Goodell thinks about "rewarding" London with the SB, maybe he should ask why the NFL Europe experiment failed. He had better know the answer to that question BEFORE he goes alienating every city in the US that has supported the league with tax breaks, hand outs and the fans cheers, tears, and loyalty for years. Nay- decades.

Where would they even play it in London? The new Wembley? I am not sure the field is big enough. Twickenham? Again, Im not sure of the dimensions of the field, but it accomodates rugby games. I doubt any of the other dozen or so stadia in London would be available in the middle of the soccer season.

Curious, do European stadiums have a lot of luxury boxes?

Of course they do.

With the current exchange rate, there is probably a ton of money to be made from this idea.

What in the HELL is the commish talking about? Ya, lets move the White House to Toronto:bang2:

I think they should play it in Iraq. We are doing awesome over there.

think of all the untapped corporate markets...
