I received mine free last year. And several other years.

I am getting it free for the 3rd year in a row, and 6 of last 7 years. I paid for it from 1997 through 2013. But skipped a few years in that time.

I usually can watch the cowboys game for free on the nfl app….so why would I pay?
I hate the league and the commissioner and all the ways they’ve ruined the game. But my Cowboys I haven’t been able to quit.

Actually if you are in the TV market for the home team, the DTV app or station blocks it, so you must watch it on the local station anyway.
So it does nothing if only interested in your home town team.
So you are paying to watch all of the out of market games.

Because it’s easy and no streaming or buffering interruptions . If you have 5 TV’s broadcasting 5 different games I’d need 5 laptops to stream each game. That’s too much work for my entertainment.

I can’t imagine with at least 5 TV’s going only being limited to the games broadcast in my area. Boring. Lol

I would pay $300.00 But I don't want to watch one damn Commerical! I hate all ADS. AND THEY PLAY THEM OVER AND OVER AGAIN! I personally believe that the replay was expanded to the game just to allow for more commercial breaks.

Pete Rozelle, a former NFL commissioner, once promised that NFL football would never be pay for view.

The NFL was formed by teams owned by wealthy business owners that wanted to give something back to their community for their patronage while also enhancing the reputation of their businesses. It was a collaboration between these owners and the cities or areas their team represented. In a way, the team belonged to the people of that city or region.

The original intent of the NFL was never profitability which is why it wasn't unusual for the franchise to be in the red. This was acceptable to owners due to the additional publicity and increase in customer loyalty to their original business interests.

Owning a sports franchise for the purpose of profit is relatively new and Jerry jones is responsible for putting this approach on steroids. He has effectively eliminated middle class fans as season ticket owners.

Correctamundo, I watch all games every year and never deal with DTV.
Streaming has and will be the end of the sporting event dictators.

The price of Sunday Ticket was $300 in 2010.

I'd be shocked if the new provider didn't increase the price.

The Commissioner has confirmed one of the worst-kept secrets in the NFL.

Appearing on CNBC, Roger Goodell said that Sunday Ticket will exit DirecTV after the 2022 season.

Goodell said that Sunday Ticket will end up with a streaming service, and that a decision will be made this fall.

CNBC recently reported that Apple, Disney, and Amazon have made bids for the out-of-market viewing package, with the three corporate behemoths waiting for the NFL’s next move.

As also reported by CNBC, the contracts between the NFL and CBS/Fox prevent the DirecTV successor from significantly slashing the $300 per year price for the package. This protects the companies that have paid big money for the ability to put games on the local affiliates available in a given area.

I still would love for them to have an option of "paying per game" like they do with other pay per view sporting events.

If they offered that it would probably cost a lot more. They don't want you to just pay for what you want, but what you don't want as well. That's how they make money. So my guess would be around 10 bucks for a single game.

Sunday Ticket has been $300 for a while, maybe even since it began being offered.

When I first looked to get it many years ago, it was in the 200s. No higher than 250. I would have remembered 300.

simply a week to week option, would suffice.
In Washington DC area about 3-4 games a year im unable to watch. Sports bars for me. not paying big money for 3 games.

About 25 hrs a week during football season

Think about all of the vices or crap you waste or blow money on throughout the year from cigs, alcohol, drugs , junk food , bar hopping, etc.

And what’s your greatest entertainment for 4 months of the year, for most probably football . And you cant budget $300 a year to have access to every game . I’d argue priorities are out of whack if you love the NFL and want to watch every game.

TV’s are very affordable. By a couple more to add for football season so you can access multiple games at one time . It’s the ultimate home viewing experience.

They should go pay per view….they could do demand based pricing too, that way they wouldn’t feel they aren’t getting the return on teams with more nationally televised games.


For example, say the cowboys have 12 out of 17 games nationally televised (prime time or late game majority of country) vs the browns with 7, just make the cowboys game 20 a piece and the browns games 10.

the end result will be people paying for the games not broadcast locally and the revenue stream will theoretically be the same.

I stopped watching live and waited for replay on NFL network. Followed the games on ESPN game cast live or had NFL red zone on.

Cut the Sunday Ticket cost that way.
