Uh, becuz this is something that could have been taken care of in the 24 hrs following the game. 13 weeks and 150 pages are only necessary if a smokescreen is needed in an attempt to distract while the corner of the rug is lifted and the broom sweeps it under the rug.

So taking care of the whole thing is 24 hours is fine, but a 13 week independent investigation is something being "swept under the rug."

If this whole thing was resolved in 24 hours and the league said "we found no evidence of wrongdoing" you would be the first (and loudest) one in here whining about how unfair that was

b) Those same laws of physics that singled out ONLY the patriots footballs...even though the colts footballs were stored in the same manner and time. Those are sure some sneaky physics laws! 1) Team is responsible for inflating the balls to proper pressure
2) Officials are responsible for verifying and storing them until just before game time

I know you just want to pull a "what does it matter now?!" but those are the ONLY 2 that can be held properly responsible. Yet, Id bet money neither will.

Not true. Each team prepares and stores their own balls prior to the referee's pregame inspection. So if Colts balls were inflated to a higher level beforehand (still within legal limits) and then all balls lose 1/2 to 1 PSI from the laws of physics, it makes perfect sense that NE's would be a few ticks below but Indy's would still be in range.

It's almost like the Colts knew a halftime inspection was coming...... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.................

Well, the team submits the balls to the refs before the game and the ref checks them for proper inflation. And here's the part I know you won't believe: If the balls are not within proper tolerances, the ref simply makes the necessary adjustments. He doesn't notify the press, the FBI, the CIA and INTERPOL. It doesn't make national headlines for weeks.
