I couldn't get the whole recap as I had a meeting.

Goose said he hasn't done much draft work right now, but he is riding on the Darren McFadden Bandwagon.

Goose said that two of the teams at the top of the draft order right now don't need a running backs. Dallas could package a 2008 and 2009 first rounder plus a third rounder and maybe get up in there to snag him. He said if Dallas feels they are a great RB away, they should do this by all means. He said McFadden is in the class of Adrian Peterson.

He said if they stand pat they could get a really good WR in the 20's. Norm asked him about DeSean Jackson He said Jackson is a top-notch candidate but is a little on the slight side and might slide a bit to around 8-12 if he comes out. He said the Colts should be all over Jackson if they can swing it.

Oh... and he picked the NYFG to win...

Thanks for the recap, TB. Gosselin probably picked the Eagles to win, too.

:)

He did...

He said a couple of weeks ago that he gets tired of all of the email over his picks so now he just goes with the home team...

Goose should stick to the draft and leave the picking to the pimples on his arse.

Yeah, a Ford Probe and a Corvette are in the same class of sports cars.

McFadden is a good player, but he is no Adrian Peterson. As my .sig says. McFadden = Herschel Walker.

Funny I read somewhere here that he has picked us to lose every single game this season except 1.

Actually, he even picked us against the Patriots. Why? Because we were the home team.

It's true.

He came up with stuff like the heat in Miami or the desperation in Philly for reasons why Dallas would lose.

So, according to Goose, Dallas should be 1-7. Whatever.

He always picks the home team.
Quit making things up.

I don't know about that, because that could be a good thing or a bad thing...remember how Herscel Walker used to "tip through holes" instead of just hitting them with force....IMO, if I had to compare him to a "Dallas Cowboys RB", he looks more like Tony Dorsett the way he runs and it looks like he's gliding......

I'll take another Herscel Walker ALL DAY...especially to get him at the start of his career.

And I'll talk Adrian Peterson everyday of the week and 10,000 times on Sundays and Mondays.

Why would we move up to take another RB?

If we aint gonna keep Double J, around give the starting Job to MBIII

Not too many people will disagree with you on this one. BUT, that wasn't what was being said. You'd be crazy not to want another H. Walker, like I said, especially at the start of his career.

Do you take Walker or do you take someone like Miami FS Kenny Phillips (probably gone in the top 10) or Ohio State CB Malcolm Jenkins (I say top 10, though some others think top 15) We have a running back and options to draft others, resign Jones, or go for a free agent. Getting a very good CB or safety from the draft would be MUCH more helpfull in the long run and I think that value far outweights what McFadden brings vs what we have.

Well that decides it for me...if Goose thinks its good... than its bad

We don't need another running back. We already have one of the leagues best 1-2 punches, and in today's NFL where there are more competent running backs then there are teams there is no reason to pay high draft pick money to a running back who hasn't even played in the league. Stay where we are, take some youth at one of our aging positions like wide reciever.

Nevermind thinking for yourself.

We WILL need a RB next year. And if we get McFadden we will have THE best 1-2 punch in the NFL next year, not "one of the" best 1-2 punches in the NFL.

Thanks for the recap, trick.

If all it took was one of the #1s this year and next year's #1, the idea makes sense to me.

But it'd have to cost more than just two #1s to move up that far, wouldn't it?

I wonder how much hide will be chapped around here if the Patriots select McFadden with their #1 pick?

Before you say "they just drafted Maroney", I would say if there was ever a team that could draft BPA it is the Patriots.
