Goose: Cowboys should do what it takes to move up for McFadden...

Thanks for the recap, trick.

If all it took was one of the #1s this year and next year's #1, the idea makes sense to me.

But it'd have to cost more than just two #1s to move up that far, wouldn't it?

Actually I'm glad you caught that... he also said a third...

I'll correct it...

Just remember, the draft is a teams life blood in the age of free agency. If you trade away multiple draft picks for a single player, you ARE selling your future short.

My opinion is to just let McFadden go. If you can trade up without giving up two #1s, then it's something to look at. To trade away two #1s and a #3 would be strangling your future.

Norm asked him about DeSean Jackson He said Jackson is a top-notch candidate but is a little on the slight side and might slide a bit to around 8-12 if he comes out. He said the Colts should be all over Jackson if they can swing it.

This seems unlikely. I realize Harrison is old, but they'd have to trade up for a pint-sized receiver from the PAC-10.

Just stick to reporting what people feed you, Goose. Your speculation is poop.

Oh... and he picked the NYFG to win...
He picked the E-Gals because they were desperate.

Goose picking Cowboy games has been wrong every game but one or two.

I look at it this way:

No one we draft this year will start next year because we have no holes (barring some injury).

We are therefore free to take risks and bpa.

McFadden is a special player. He could be great in the pros, he could be a bust. But he is no doubt a special prospect. I wouldn't give up the farm for him, but I'd be willing to make a risky play for him because we don't have any needs and can gamble that he will be special in the pros.

Dallas could package a 2008 and 2009 first rounder plus a third rounder and maybe get up in there to snag him. He said if Dallas feels they are a great RB away, they should do this by all means.
I would not do that.

Resign JJ or go get Turner and draft a WR and CB.

Two #1's plus a #3 is to expensive. We are NOT one player away.

Putting a hit out on Derek Anderson would fall under the heading of "whatever it takes", right?

I object. Speculation.

Without question, I think Kenny Phillips would start at FS next year.

Thats what I've been preaching. To me, if we could Draft Malcolm Jenkins with the Browns pick, Malcolm Kelly with the Cowboys #1 and either draft Mike Hart in the second around or sign Turner from the Chargers we would have hit paydirt.

EDIT: Though, I don't think you will get Turner to sign with the Cowboys having Barber on the roster. I'm sure he will want to go somewhere were he will be the featured back.

If Glenn doesn't come back, I think Doucet would start at WR.

I think Jerry will pony up for Hamlin, so I see our needs as CB,WR and a RB in the second or third.

I disagree. Hamlin has earned the right to start there again next year.

Phillips will probably be very good, but I still think he is trading off of Reed and Taylor. I don't think Phillips is that special. That being said, I'm opposed to drafting any of those thug POS from Miami.

I'll roll with Hamlin. But even if we got Phillips (which we won't) I don't think he would start right away. He would transition in and probably start his second year.

PPPPPPPPPLLLLLLEASE . Do we really have to go back and name every 2nd rounder we have wasted ? We have an expendable pick this year why not grab Mcfadden ? If you have a chance to get a franchise rb you have to do it .

I would draft Kelly over Doucet. Kelly would be the future replacement of TO.

Hamlin is a strong safety who while better in coverage than Roy Williams, still isn't quite up to snuff as you would like.

In all honesty, if I drafted Phillips next year and I had the option of keeping Hamlin or Williams. I would start Hamlin at strong safety and Phillips at free safety. Hamlin is just a better overall safety. Williams is just stronger at stopping the run.

If he comes out, he won't even go in the first round.

Draft picks, especially high draft picks aren't expendable . First and foremost, that Browns first round draft choice we have cost of last years #1 draft choice. We were lucky enough to be able to package other picks to move back into the first round to get Spencer. To say that #1 is expendable is absolute ludacris, ill-advised, and flat out dumb.

PEOPLE GET REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! are running attack is decent I LOVE me some MB3 but if we have an opportunity to take a franchise type running back you take it. People worry about MB3 but no one fears are running attack. As cocky as this may sound we are the ****ing Dallas Cowboys and we expect franchise caliber QBs and RBs like its are right cause it is. So if you expect good than go cheer on another team thats happy with that cause I expect greatness out of everything my franchise does to live up to its great legacy.

We are good enough to make a move like this so I say get it done.

If we were a team with a lot of holes then no I wouldn't do it.

Something tells me Jerry is going to try his hardest to get this done.

Especially when he was in attendance at D Macs 300 yard performance.

I think our needs are WR first, CB or RB second, and then a CB or RB in the 2nd round (depending on which we get with our 2nd first rounder.)

Then we go after some hidden gems in the 3rd - 7th rounds.
