Our backup QB is "50 years old."
How can we simply pass on a blue chip QB and just "laugh it off?"
Is Romo the answer? Probably.
You do know that the Jeopardy theme stopped playing a looooong time ago, right? Here's the very (simple) question again:
In YOUR opinion, what sort of timetable would you put Quinn on to led this team to the playoffs and possibly a Super Bowl berth?
Now, to your earlier responses:
1. Brad Johnson is 38 or 39 years old. That's old for any player in the NFL. You don't have to artificially inflate the man's age to get your point across.
2. Who's laughing at bypassing Quinn at #22? Who? The voices in your head?
No one is laughing. As a result of trading with the Browns, we
profited by adding a very good 3-4 OLB projected for the first round
in the first round who fits our scheme perfectly.
You constantly harp on team need. For a first round pick, the level of team need Saturday was
equal between QB and LB. Notice that I
didn't say that WR or CB wasn't a greater perceived team need with the first pick. This is an issue with you between the choice that fell in Dallas' lap, which you wanted
after it materialized, and the choice made by the franchise.
The team need at QB and LB were equal. The franchise's choice in Spencer equates to an almost immediate improvement of the defense. Your choice in Quinn is not for the offense was not going to be an immediate improvement. The franchise (Jones & Phillips) thinks that the Super Bowl is within their grasp
now. That's why they picked Spencer and that's why they didn't pick Quinn.
3. You ask, "Is Romo the answer"? That question hasn't been answered yet. The franchise believes it knows what they have in Romo, but Saturday they asked themselves at #22, "Is Quinn the answer"? They said no. For the Dallas Cowboys, that's the end of story. Then again, some haven't come to grips with Randy Moss yet.
Remember, final Jeopardy is almost upon you.
