Run Zeke run!

I was kinda worried they were gonna split his carries with Morris before the season began (was confounded that there was a decent amount of posters that wanted his carries held back to "preserve" him), and then grew concerned, again (that his carries may be reduced), after his somewhat rough two starts. But the coaches stayed on course with our phenom and they need to continue to let the kid eat. And that's excatly what they're doing. Awesome.

20-25 carries a game, keep it going. We need to start implementing him more in the passing game -- as @FuzzyLumpkins has eloquently said, he needs more practice there. Hope they're doing lots of passing drills in practice with our phenom. Still a few screens or flat routes wouldn't hurt, not talking lining him up in the slot or seem routes etc... just get him more involved in that facet, he seems to glide after receiving the few balls he has.

(God I'm still eating so much crow on this pick, lol) and LOL @Risen Star
There is nothing to eat crow about. 95% of football people believe taking running backs that high is a tactical mistake. Short careers and all. Elliott like Smith and Dorsett could/did prove that logic wrong. It is the exception though.

RB's are not interchangeable, as evidenced by their utility (or lack of) in blocking, receiving, and rushing behind the zone scheme of our OL.

If Zeke wasn't the finest blocker at RB many of us have seen, Dak may have already been defeated and/or injured.

Who cares about his workload? I think we should draft a RB high every 5 years, ride them until their rookie contract is up, then let them walk. Rinse and repeat. EZE is not so special that we will have to pay him a truckload of money to stay. I'm glad we have him, but RBs are interchangeable. Emmitt was a generational type player, and I am not sure his breed of RBs exist anymore.
I dont think that is a sustainable way to keep good R's. I dont think EE is good either, I think he is way above good. He has the potential to be a once in a generation RB. You dont let that go after the rookie contract.

Thanks, bubba. But I was an ardent supporter of the Ramsey pick. Angry at those that wanted Zeke lol Man, was I wrong

But your point still stands, brudda. So I guess, there's a small reprieve :)

I think the work load is just right for Zeke. Great backs will say they get stronger as they game wears on and that is when those 5 and 6 yard gains start turning into 20 plus yard pick ups.

I have to say...I would never take a DB with a 4th over all pick. That would kill me!! Thats a pick for a franchise QB or a bloodthirsty DE. But, l think we can all live with Elliott...especially after the second SB!!;)!

One thing is for sure, popular football consensus among the talking heads has and always will change with the times. The "just plug anybody in back there" people were wrong on this. Sometimes, you DO take a RB that high.

Sean Taylor (as an example, and my favorite DB ever) says hello, Haley :)

Only, somewhat rarely does it work out the way it has for us, CVN. But boy, are we lucky to have taken the chance. Our scouts were dead-on

Hope I'm off your ignore list, bubba :)

I would say those top 5 picks are for players who a team thinks is special not any particular position. I think object is getting studs who are difference makers at the top of the draft.
Teams need to focus a bit more on the player and a little less on the position. Like QB just because the position is of great value does not mean that top QB in the draft is a top player in the draft.

Zeke is the best rusher in the league, in his rookie year, just like Dickerson was. We hit that pick out of the damn park. A 450 ft. blast of a homer. A Mike Trout home run, if you will ;)

Gurley, Jones, Bell (and, apparently, Ajayi) can all vie for second fiddle to Zeke.
