Gosselin says Dak is the greatest rookie QB in history

The sideline shots of the Eagle game told me a lot.

Dak's eyes didn't leave the field.

He never sat down. He looked like a coach.
Student of the game. Its weird though. Hes said Sanchez has been a tremendous help for him this season. After seeing Sanchez play, I wonder if he has just ignored everything sanchez said to him

My first thought too, when I read about that.

I'm assuming it was more of the game time nuances of playing pro ball at the QB position and not the x's and o's...............Gotta be, right?

It would be unbelievably telling if he was not engaged.
It's a very tiny window of the season where he would have to do it and he's been in the QB room with these guys supporting him all year.
Of course he'd be watching. Must see TV and probably pretty interesting for him.

Great to see him continue to do what we'd like to see him do.

He was watching with intensity.

Like he was listening, by watching if that makes sense.

Hard to explain his facial expression.

I read it as a really, really bad column by an out of touch old guy. With a bad memory.
I don't care about the "column". I like this graphic.

Of course he has probably had the best rookie season ever, would be hard to argue otherwise. I hope he hasn't reached his max potential and keeps growing. We need him to go strong for 10+ years :D
After this season, he will have a difficult time living up to a lot of fans' expectations. Many will expect him to improve (significantly) next season and in the seasons that follow. He could well be a better QB next year and not have as good of a season statistically or win-wise. He will almost certainly have a drop in his TD:INT ratio. He may never have another season as good as this one INT-wise. I expect he'll have more yards, more TD's and remain in the same vicinity on his completion percentage and YPA. I'm getting ahead of myself, though. I just want him to maintain what he's doing right now going forward into the PO's.

Does this now mean that Gosselin is a good writer who has good takes on football and the Cowboys? I forget what the narrative is.

As much as some people don't want it to be true, it is. I saw it in the 2nd preseason game and I knew it wasn't normal, so that's when I ordered my Dak and Zeke jerseys.

What's interesting about the preseason is that people overvalue it and undervalue it also.

I remember him being accurate and completing passes and thought, "He's going against scrubs. Nothing to it."
Then after each preseason game, he was doing the same thing and getting better, and I said, "Hhm, he's better than I expected."
Then when we got to the first game I thought he did pretty good but didn't put much stock into it. Then when Dak beat the Packers, I was like, "Okay, this kid is good. He's not simply a 'glorified Tim Tebow'" as I called him before the draft.

And even with his exceptional cast, it's very difficult for a rookie to play at the level Dak is now playing. I hope the ride continues because a Super Bowl appearance and victory will cap a truly special season.

Based on their performance their rookie season and the talent of the teams they played on. Also by watching comparison film on both.

I'm sorry, but you can't know this. Each person and each team and each generation present a web of different scenarios, possibilities and outcomes. There is absolute NO way to prove what could have or may have happened if circumstances were different.
And, remember, humans aren't stats. You can't just look at a particular condition and think you'll get the same results if you plugged in a different person. Humans just don't work that way. If so, every person born to a rich, educated family would themselves become rich and educated and every person born to a poor, uneducated family would turn out poor and uneducated. It may be likely, but likely isn't absolute.

I would stay away from stating emphatically what cannot be proven.

After seeing how he played, i dont really know what he can teach
What not to do.

I've taught people to play golf and they ended up better than me (probably because they spent more time doing it).

I've taught many people to Wakeboard and some of them are better than me (probably because they are much younger).

That's my impression. He said Sanchez said things like to take time to enjoy himself, and he harped on Dak's footwork after the Philly game. Sanchez is probably a decent motivator and encourager, but Dak specifically said Tony and Kellen help him out with game aspects, like looks the defense gives him.
