I was going to say the same. If he never got better........we'd be in contention every year he's our quarterback. He's displayed very few flaws in his game. But the crazy thing is, I think he will get better.

Stafford had a hayday with 21 unanswered points. And worked the middle of the field.

Lots of yards worked on this defense. Overall.

Cousins had nearly 5k yards and he's at home right now. Yards are yards.

And what did Stafford do in the 2nd half of that game?
And Zenner had 67 yards.......hardly running "amok".

Cowboys were 1 of 3 teams to not allow a 100 yard rusher all year.

I'll go ahead and run with my "bend but don't break" defense.....

I'd much rather have yards put up on me then points. Yards are fantasy football players. Doesn't really get you far in this league.

Its funny though. You hear Commanders and their fans have question marks about Cousins who lit every team up but couldn't score touchdowns in the redzone. Yet, Dak is the one getting praise despite not having a gang of yards..........funny how that works.

You scoff 5000 yds? Ridiculous. 67 yds with great field position gave them 21 points. That's serious. After all.....Yards are yards.

Second half was great. 1/2 a game screams mediocre.

RUN defense has been solid. Half the job of a defense. Mediocre.

I'll run with the bend don't break defense.....I like that. Mediocre defense, never said it didn't work. But you get all chippy and act like I said otherwise. Brilliant.

Those 67 yards scored points.....Now what?

I don't care who else Cousins "lit up". And I certainly didn't bring up Dak's red zone efficiency. Thanks for sharing, tho.

Yeah I scoff at 5k yards....where did it get Cousins? You said he ran amok. I said 67 yards aren't running amok. Your comment was full of hyperbole which is fine but now you're trying to push the goal post. I have no problem with you thinking this is a mediocre defense. Just was wondering why you thought it was and you bring up Cousins and Zenner among other things.

Yeah that's a start. Actually that's probably all needed in a Alex Smith v Dak debate. People really want to make Dak out to be a dink and dunk throw to the tight end all game type quarterback.

So I say Dak did better overall and included stats on total yards, total TDs, total turnovers, and passer rating.
But hey, that 4 receiver set for passing really separated them, so lets make sure we find some one up the post.

We had 187 plays from 4+WR formations, and only 1 RB run. So those are all attempts when defenses knew we were going to pass, and Prescott performed much better than the other rookies in that situation. It separates him from them in that way, and it's not a random way.

From those obvious passing formations, I don't think Griffin (especially) compares, as his low number of attempts, ypa, and resultant passer rating all show -- even though, as you posted, their overall ratings are quite similar. Sometimes you dig deeper and get good news. Didn't mean to one-up anybody, just sharing some information that happened to relate directly to what you'd posted.
