Gotham - tv show (Jim Gordon beginning)

How would they tie it in? The show was advertised, all along, as Gotham before Bruce Wayne is ever Batman. So I'm not sure how you'd tie it into the upcoming movie which takes place long after Bruce is Batman. They're in two very different parts of the timeline.

The Child Abductors I don't know who they were for the show, which was a little disappointing, because I thought what they were doing was tieing it to the comic/cartoon storyline of the guy who lived in the sewers, abducted children, and taught them to steal for him. This was just a random situation for them to use to build up Gordon as a detective.

Yeah I know.

If the show had a shelf life of 2014, 15 and 16. Evolve 2016 into movie.
I know it too much but they screwed the pooch waiting so long.

It wasn't about waiting too long. They just didn't put that type of vision together. They aren't all under one umbrella in their development of tv shows and movies. It is independent development with no relations similar to Sony's work with Spiderman or the X-Men movies being separate from Avengers.

I think DC should put more into their animated movies. They do a great job with those direct-to-video productions. Maybe they should increase the budget and make them big screen films instead. Animation is a good medium to capture the DC comic book world.

I didn't see the show so I cant rate it but the whole concept was not appealing to me. Gotham without Batman just doesn't seem right.
That was my first impression as well...what would then make it any different than any of the other dozen cop dramas?

But my sister - who is not at all a media critic or analyst lol - said it's going to be more like Smallville, which explained how Superman came to be. If that's the case, I guess it could be pretty cool, but it doesn't seem like that's what's going to happen.

I'm a Batman fanatic and I'm loving the show so far. Love how Penguin is insane and diabolical like Joker. Supposed to be more characters coming soon to which should add to it i.e. Dent/2 face, Scarecrow, and Zsasz.

Yeah. Believable.

Riddler is cooky. Almost annoying to others with his info and descriptions of findings to others.

I like falcone and jada character.

Cat woman ay steal the show or at least rival Gordon's character. Ie. Loki and Thor.

Its not great, but it is pretty fascinating and something different from the normal crap that is on.

As my avatar shows, i'm a huge batman-universe fan. This show is staring off good, but i can see it becoming great if it last more than 2 years. Shows usually hit their prime in years 2-3-4 (For me anyways).

Little side note...i saw the Flash episode, really mini spoiler for it :

at the end a paper headline from the future in 2024 says "Wayne/Queen merger complete". Could it mean the 3 universes are connected? (Arrow, Gotham and Flash) Bruce would be in his 20's by then... I know it's a bit thin as evidence...but i thought it was interesting.

I am for connecting the superheroes

Avengers was done very well!

The show should be called:

The Rise of the Penguin: The Art of Deception

Premise is awesome, but the dialogue, acting and plot are terrible.

I now completely disagree. Dialogue, acting and plot are what have me very interested in this show. Only thing I didn't like was the Falcone recap of Penguins plan.

Falcone and Fish... Good stuff... With a side or penguin.

She could win award for her performance.

Yep. They're doing some of the best work on the show by far. In fact they were the only part that was really good last night.

They just didn't really seem to do much to build Gordon and the whole build to the show down with the bad guy was...yikes. So poorly done.

Lol

Come on... Cup of water... CLASSIC!
