I know I really push Taylor Mays and Dez Bryant but they have question makes even if they are minimal. Trust me when I tell you Eric Berry is a sure thing.

Monte Kiffen has called him the most talented defensive player he has ever coached and he said yes, that includes Derrick Brooks, Warren Sapp, Simeon Rice, etc.

Could it be because he is far more likely to man up and take blame than Roy?
Absolutely not, he's as much of a finger-guy as anybody else on this team.

I'm sorry no offense, but I don't care what you or Monte Kiffin say. I would like to see him play a down of NFL football first.

I love Eric Berry, and I think he WILL be one of the best defensive players in the NFL, but your extremely NAIVE if you think theres such a thing as a "SURE THING" coming out of college.

Then again the Jets traded their 1st, 2nd, and 3 players to move up and get Mark Sanchez and that seems to be working out.

The Jets are going to get a rude awakening if they think this is going to be a fairytale season with Sanchez. Lets see how he fairs against the Titans this week.

He got all those props in week one. The big play him made, the receiver didn't have a defender within 20 yards of him. Q-Car could have made that play.

Though, I admit, he did make a play or two in this last game. Though, I tell you. New England's D doesn't look like the same with all the new faces.

Seeing Hamlin back there is painful for me, especially following the Baltimore game last year. He's been just as bad this year.

I'm hoping the coaches figure out a way to get other Hamlin in the lineup and bench Ken. He's just terrible.

Put in Alan Ball...at least he's got instincts and isn't afraid to make a play on the ball. (no pun intended)

What happen to this guy? He had that fabulous season and got his fat contract. Since then his play suspect at best and sometimes outright horrendous.

He has a tough role as the FS who is needed to cover the young corners' butts. I think he has a tougher role, hence his seemingly declined play. I think we gel some this week though. We're still in the process of coaching up this defense. It's so young we can't expect them to be perfect....

It's not his job to cover for young corners mistakes. He needs to handle his job first and foremost. He is failing at HIS job. Trust your teammates. If they fail, thats their problem and something for them to work on. You don't jeopardize your job because someone else is having problems. That is the express lane to losing games because then your team has two weaknesses rather than just one!

Maybe Roy wasn't as bad as people say, he just never had help beside him.

He was great with Woodson, but useless with Watkins and Hamlin.

Maybe Hamlin was making Roy look bad and we thought it was just Roy making himself look bad! :laugh2:

Roy was enigmatic, can't place a finger on what happened to him.

Aside from piss poor tackling, consistently biting on play action and hands of stone, what is wrong w/Ken Hamlin?

I would think urine would be offended by your comparison to Ken Hamlin's tackling ability.

Wonder why the media doesn't call him out the way they always called Roy out.

Actually, I've noticed he doesn't get called out much here either. The idea for this thread came to me while watching the game. I saw him run blitzing the same gap the running back came out of. He ran right past him. He didn't even reach for him or anything. It was like two ships passing in the night. :banghead: He clearly wasn't paying attention when he came through the gap. How in hell does that happen?!?!

The announcers actually called him out on that play. He is just the worst. Well, that Tampa Bay safety was pretty bad too.

We shoulda gotten Brian Dawkins even if he was a Philthy Eagle.

He had a good season, it wasnt a "fabulous" season. Then he threatened to hold out if he didnt get a lucrative long term deal after that season.

Wade and Jones said this guy was a huge piece of the puzzle, and he's been the worst player on the defense since he signed that deal.

His contract is the worst we've ever given a player IMO, he's awful.

Like many players around the league and other leagues...

Once they get a big contract.....they lose their desire.

Hamlin IMHO is one of those players.

Hamlin was horribly overrated during the 2007 season. The FS play that had been seen in Dallas since Woodson hurt his back and retired was so awful that Hamlin was going to look good by just being adequate. He's playing to the level that he is: an average player.

Like to see Hamlin benched and maybe have Jenkins start @ FS. Need to have best DBs in game.

:laugh2: this site is incredible sometimes.
