Grade the Cowboys draft

I like the Spencer deal, Stanback and Brown picks = A

Marten, Free, Folk, Anderson, Ball picks = C

Average = B

On a side note Obviously the Colts know talent when they see it...

Gonzales...Pitcock and Hall all from THE Ohio St.:D

Although I'll always hate Hall for Hurting you know who in the National Disgrace Game.:D

B+

Not sexy but hey, "meat and potatoes" was the way to go in this draft because the team is hurting badly in OL quality AND depth. If they would have kept the 3rd and 5th round picks this draft would have looked sexier, but guaranteed we will be doing cartwheels when the boys snatch up a franchise player early next draft.

Replace Stanback with a nose tackle and this draft would have been an "A"!!

Yeah, the Colts are trying to fill holes with players from a very good university. :) And don't hate on Hall too much. He may have improved Ginn's draft selection WITH the injury. j/k

We are nearing 200 votes and only 11 people think we had a below average draft.

I gave it an A-.

In the end, Dallas gave up the 53rd pick for Cleveland's #1 in 2008.

They ended up with 5 players in my top 125 in Spencer, Brown, Marten, Free and Stanback and my #1 PK. That's a great haul.

My only problems are not addressing a rotational NT and a coverage/nickel LB but they did address the OL for the future and FB which were huge needs.

I've said more than once that Hoyte was the worst player compared to others at his position of any Cowboy that saw significant playing time. There were several fullbacks that I preferred but Anderson did play with angry the few games I saw him play. For those who haven't seen him play, think of how Barber runs near the goal line then picture him without the ball.

IF Dallas grabs a few quality UDFAs, and they have done very well in that area over the years, I could see this rookie class ended up with a solid A in my book.

A- really because if the trades wade ost of them were good for us. did we get any next year picks except of the 1st from the browns.

A-........This time a year from now I'll probably change it to an A+

A-

we didn't address WR substantially like I wish we would have, although I like the Stanback pick as a WR, since we seem to have a good repoire turning QBs into WRs, having done a successful conversion of one QB already, Crayton

Spencer, Marten, Free, Courtney Brown, very good picks, great value, Folk was a good pick because we'll be using him right off the bat as a kick-off specialist

and above all, gaining a potential top 5 pick next year

It is hard to truely tell the value unless you have a time machine.

Any time you draft a kicker in this day and age, your draft cant really be rated that high.

We got one potential starter and lot of guys who have to rely on injury or surprise to make a difference this year.

If Brady Quinn's career is horrible, then the draft will look better in the future. If Quinn has a better year this year and then a better career than Romo, then the draft rating is a solid "D-".

The first rounder next year is the only thing that should make anyone happy. If they get the next Troy Aikman with the top pick next year, then this draft would be an "A+".

The fact is that many teams with worse draft positions got more impact players out of their drafts.

Lets hope for surprises, but I'm not rushing out to buy any new jerseys tomorrow.

Lets look at it this way.

Out of our first 4 picks, we drafted positions that already have a current or potentional 4* probowlers on our roster.

One of those positions included our biggest offseason free agent pickup.

After that we drafted a kicker and fullback. Not really positions that you draft for.

(*5 if you count Romo)
