Schoonmaker is a big target that doesn’t drop the rock .

He’ll be a very good addition.

I say the same thing every draft, If three players are still on the roster three years from now it was an OK draft. Mazi will start. According to Jerry so will Schoon. Right now C+ range.
If they get two starters come opening weekend, that is a B grade.

6-4 315 is undersized? Lol. I give them a b-. Passing on the Florida guard is a disaster. Pretty.happy with every other pick.

These draft "grades" give sportswriters some justification for their existence. But do they, or the heavy emphasis on combine numbers, mean a lot in the real world? Football/general IQ, work ethic, personal grit & determination, ability to remain fit & healthy, leadership qualities, teamwork/locker-room presence, etc...are all reliable predictors of success grossly overlooked in the glorified cattle auction that is the NFL draft.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with our picks...despite not currently understanding the TE pick in Round 2. But, obviously, those charged with such decisions strongly felt that player has an important role in the revamped offense in the works for 2023-24. To paraphrase Bill Parcells, they're cooking the meal; they're entitled to buy the groceries. We can critique the finished product.

You mean like Cooks with the 5th pick?

Oh I’m 100% on board with the Cooks trade. I’d just like to see some more juice added to help stop the offense from stalling like it did on occasion last season.

That’s not really how the board fell, though, so I can’t really complain.

Aside from the first pick, one of the worst drafts in a while especially given the lack of activity in the offseason. If this is gonna be how they draft they need to start thinking about trading 2/3rd round picks for actual players more often.

Historically is it not difficult to have a good draft near the bottom of the draft. I thought they were fairly creative and putting together some good pics not all pitch we’re good

They traded for two starters in the offseason. It was one of their more productive offseasons in a while.

What holes weren’t filled??

HB - Deuce
WR - Cooks
TE - Schoonmaker
LG - They will keep Tyler Smith
1T - Mazi
Off ball LB - Overshown
CB - Gilmore

They added more depth at DL and CB as well

All they need to do is get a kicker

Jerry was wrong that Philly went "all in" last year. Lots of people tried to point this out. They still had a lot of dry powder. This shouldn't have been surprising to people.

As far as the Cowboys, I could write up a scenario where this is a good draft or one where its a terrible draft. People here are just adamant that they are right and McClay is wrong, which has generally worked out to NOT be true. At some point, I would think that fans would back off a little. The Cowboys certainly have warts but drafting isn't one of them.
It's the one front office function they have excelled at.
I give them the benefit of the doubt

F for me from 1-7 worst draft ever. Another finesse Olineman, a 25 year old TE with surgeries galore and a corner who ran 4.7+. Great job, Great job!

Since they used two picks from this draft to get Cooks and Gilmore you have to count that in this years draft grades. I don’t know how anyone can say those two moves didn’t make the Cowboys much better.

It wasn’t that DC had such a bad draft. It’s just some of the other teams in the NFC seem to have significantly improved with their pics. All the opinions don’t mean anything until cleats hit the field. Sadly Philly will be loaded and I’m worried that NYG are going to be a tough opponent to be reckoned with in the coming years. I just don’t see a lot of improvement with our players. If we get 12 wins this year, I’ll be surprised.
