Great Quarterbacks

He did prove alot. He proved that he was going to be the starter for the next 8 plus years. He didn't prove that he could make good decisions in the clutch though. He didn't prove that he could take care of the ball late in the season. Now that he has learned those two things we can all enjoy the first playoff win in 13 years. His single season td record was great, but that doesn't make him a great quarterback. Great gets thrown around alot.

So does your back end when you change your tune after previously being manhandled by other posters on a daily basis. You've proven that you're unable to see talent when it's sitting right in front of your eyes.

You are funny without intending to be. That was a paragraph of pure nonsense. How many games had Tony already led us from behind to win before this year? Hate to tell you this sparky, but that's called clutch. Proving to be a long term starter is more evidence. Plenty of QBs have had yips to end a season. It doesn't diminish anything. It takes a special kind of myopia to cherry pick circumstances and still come up short.

Tony has 10 game winning drives. Campbell has 7. Since when does regular season comebacks make you a great clutch qb? But I guess I'm getting ***** slapped again eh Mccoy?

Even when I give Tony props it's not enough. I have to have bow down to him.lol

Yet another definition of clutch is high % of wins. 38-17 record as a pro. Do you have any idea how hard it is to win 69% of the games you QB? Probably not.

Left handed compliments are not "props."

Pedigree....I guess that is where I'm not getting it then....I guess that I am just talking about family members, etc. when it comes to "pedigree".

If you are talking about pedigree to include coaching....then that's another matter there.

I still say that he wasn't a great qb until this season, but I don't fault people for thinking that he was from the jump. I thought he was from 06- the Giants 07 loss. He proved alot this year whether people want to admit it or not.

Go back and look at all-time stats over the same amount of time as Romo....tell me where he stands.

Of course it comes from coaches. Look at a guy like Norm Chow. How many QBs that he coached at BYU and USC have ended up having NFL careers? I don't have any doubts he will have another string of them at UCLA.

Miami had a string of NFL QBs. Maryland did. Michigan did. Every football player has roots that lead back to nutrition.

Sometimes the nutrition causes them to yield good fruit. In our case, Tony Romo comes from Eastern Illinois which is producing Offensive minds like Mike Shanahan and Sean Payton. In this case Romo has brought it to the field.

Thank heavens.

Eastern Illinois is not pedigree, by any stretch of the imagination.

OK...thanks for the clarifiction. My definition of "Pedigree" was different...hence my references of father/son, etc....we're on the same page now. :)

i didn't realize your guy had 9 comebacks and 10 game winning drives, that's pretty damn good

interesting to note, drew brees has 11 4th qtr comesbacks and 18 gw drives in his career , but since joining new orleans (2006 to present) those numbers are only 6 4th qtr comebacks and 9 game winning drives

interesting but i'm sure everyone already suspected as much

Thank You very much. I'm still so very excited.

Interesting thread. There were many here who saw star attributes in Tony from the get go esp his quick release.

I agree there were more than just a few of us. Most were sort of closet supporters because the majority was so fierce with pro-Henson rhetoric.
