I have enjoyed the best season in many years. I will not reflect on this game regarding refs. We had our chances. The future is bright. We will be back next year much better. Go Cowboys!

The future isn't as bright as you may think. Romo is going to be 36 with a serious back condition. Without a quality QB, we're staring at 6-10 all over again.

It was. Yes it sucks losing but Romo erased all doubt as to who he can be. Our O line was way better than I anticipated for this year. We just need to make some changes on D. We are built for winning long term and next year, with a couple of key moves on D and we can win the whole thing. I am already excited for next year.

If we can draft some defense and figure out Murray and Dez contracts, there's a real chance this team has a window to be really good.

Being realistic, we were not a super bowl team. Better season than any of us predicted.

I know it's a tough loss today and some of us will stew in it for a while. But think about how great this year was and what a fun ride it was. I came into the year expecting 5 or 6 wins. There just seemed to be too many deficiencies on defense and I didn't have faith that we would be a running team this year.

But the progress we showed as a franchise this year was leaps and bounds above the past almost 20 years now. If we keep the main parts of the offense in tact we will be Super Bowl bound in the next few years. There is no doubt that this franchise is going the right direction now.

After quite a few seasons of apathy, the Cowboys performance this season actually had me talking trash to friends of other teams. We played hard and didn't go out with a whimper. I'm not happy, but I'm proud of this year's team.

I know there is a decompression period after something like this but this team has a lot going for it next season. Romo is probably playing one more season but I have faith in him. It's debatable but I think Murray needs to come back and if he does its another plus. The receiving core and offensive line is great, Dez is elite without a doubt.

The elephant in the room is the defense. I truly believe that the success of next season (success to me right now is a Super Bowl, higher expectations) will depend on the pass rush and improvement of the defense. Marinelli is a miracle worker but this D cannot continue as it is.

SO, is this success sustainable? That's what I want to know. Will this group become a 10-6 to 13-3 for the next 5-10 years? Or will it be another 2007 situation? I can see it, but winning in this league is so difficult.

Not hanging my head. Got to watch relevant Cowboys football for the first time in a long time. for that I'm thankful.

Yes, I'm disappointed we lost, and yes, it was a catch by Dez (it really was), but that's not why we lost the game. We had our chances today, just didn't capitalize. Don't blame the officials. Had a helluva run.

Here's to next year. Cheers. :star:

it should ave never come down to that, they had numerous opportunities to put GB away and that drive at the end of the first half was the killer imo. Should have been 17-7 or 21-7 instead of 14-10, minimum 6 point swing and they lost by 5

The title of this thread doesn't mean that I don't feel a crushing disappointment over the outcome of today's game. With that said, this team has over achieved and exceeded the expectations of nearly everyone on this board, including myself, and the overwhelming majority of all media outlets. I'm not interested in trying to blame a certain, play, player, or coaching decision on why things didn't go our way today. Thank you to all of the Cowboys players, staff and management for giving me the most enjoyable and rewarding season in recent memory. On to bigger and better things next year.

Certainly exceeded my expectations, just fix the defensive line and safety on this team and Dallas can be right back in the thick of things next year..

I don't want to pay Murray the money he wants. I'd rather invest in the defensive line. I'm pretty mad at Murray right for that fumble. That fumble was a bad point in the game. He led the league with fumbles for rb's. I don't want to pay top dollar for that liability. I agree with the OP, we need to beef up that defense and Bryant stays. I'd let Murray walk and replace him with Randle, dunbar, possible free agent or a mid round draft pick. He fumbles way too much. We got little pass rush today. We need Dlinemen and a corner back.

Feeling good that we appear to have the foundation to be a contending team as long as the QB is healthy. Doesn't guarantee anything but we will be in the NFC playoff discussion going forward. Obvious additions are needed up front on D and I fully expect Jerry to make the necessary moves to capitalize on this window.

I'd like to be the first to say great season Dallas Cowboys NFC east champs. Nobody, and I mean nobody predicted the season they had. It was a pleasant surprise all year. The formula is in place and they can concentrate on upgrading the defense now. Good things to come next year.

Man, we were good enough to win it this year. To see it end like this is heart breaking, I can only imagine how the players (Especially Dez) feel. I am so proud of this squad though, went above and beyond any expectations I had. I really though we had that Super Bowl mojo. Hopefully it carries over to next year.
