I'm with Tinky-Winky.

For me, it's got to be Emmitt. From history, I could throw in Staubach and Lilly, knowing their relevance, but being born in 1984 - it just wouldn't be genuine. The Cowboys were Emmitt Smith for me growing up, followed closely by Troy.

pff, young buck

since you brought it up, of the Cowboys of my age, it would be the guy in my av

The greatest teams of the 70's were the Cowboys and Steelers. The greatest teams of the 90's were the Cowboys and 49ers. While the 49ers were formidable last decade, Pittsburgh was much more of an adversary in the 70's than San Francisco was in the 90's. The Team of the 90's was legendary, but they only had to contend with the Bills and Steelers to win championships. Those two teams paled in comparison to the Steel Curtain of the 70's.

We lost to the Steelers twice in the big game. They steelers snuffed out Staubachs comebacks to win those games.

The 49ers werent such a big adversary simply because we beat them and short of a noncall on Sanders in 94 wed have 4 trophies from the 90s. The 79 Super Bowl was not as close as the score indicated.

The 90s Cowboys beat their nemesis. The 70s Cowboys never could.

Larry Allen. Any man that makes other professional athletes fake injuries so that they don't have to play him is a bad man indeed. Followed by Emmitt, Lilly, Staubach and The Manster.

Like a 4-year-old.

A really big 4-year-old.

Pure joy.

Yep. That's the kind of joy that only an oversized jumbo kid like Cole can experience. Just aint gonna happen for grown ups.

:laugh2:

So, in your opinion, were the 90's 49ers > 70's Steelers? Or were the 70's Steelers > 90's 49ers?

The only correct answer to this is that the 90s Cowboys > 70s Steelers > 70s Cowboys >pretty much everything else ever.

As much as I dislike those Steelers teams, I don't know if I can clearly place the 90s Cowboys teams over them. Maybe a case can be made that they were equal, but those Steelers Teams deserve much respect!

No my point is that the 70s Steelers > 70s Cowboys, and 90s Cowboys > any other team of that era.

if the 1995 49ers lined up against the 1976 Steelers they would plaster them. i could start listing wieights along the line and it would be a longday for the steel curtain.
