Green was a reach a 5th or 6th round player, a bad choice in a great draft. You can't get em all right..

Exactly . Add the fact that he is injury prone and he looks like the one screw up in a very good draft. He was a reach , but with the Coins signing, he is expendable anyway. The injury history is what really makes this a bad pick. There was more dependable players available in the draft that was there for the taking and they would have filled some holes.

Unlike you, I don't make ridiculous snap decisions on a player after two days of orientation camp....so Mel Kiper has never been wrong..... This is the same Mel Kiper who said Ryan Leaf was better prospect than Peyton Manning..
I agree Quest..
The same Mel Kiper who thought JJ Stokes was a sure fire all pro
Thought Drunkenmiller was best QB in draft..
The list goes on... Bottom line is you don't throw in the towel on a 3rd round pick after his 2nd day of mini camp because some prognosticators and so called experts say he is a reach .. Let's wait this out a bit ... Jeesh

so two orientation days in camp from guys who haven't really been working out in probably six weeks and you've concluded he's a bad choice........so under your theory I guess Gregory is a bad choice, he had to leave the field too from dehydration......did you say the same thing when Dez was puking and dehydrated after his first two days as a rookie in orientation camp....

Dez and Gregory were top rated prospects, Green was rated one higher than the OL we took in the 7th round. He was a reach. Now that being said that is not the problem, the problem is you think there is no free speech. I have a right to say if I think someone is a bust, and so do you. You might not like Kiper and you may think CBS sports NFL prospects is a joke and you know more than anyone. I on the other hand respect Kiper, CBS sports, and respect the value of free speech.

Guys are bailling on this guy already. Pump the brakes fellas.

I know.

It's becuz we are all excited about what is happening, I think.

Everybody wants everybody to emerge as the next difference-maker guy.

I think all of these guys make the squad and contribute heavily.

Our depth just got almost giddy.

Chaz Green is on a 3 year plan. I don't care if he gets cramps in rookie mini camp.

Ugh.

First of all, why are we talking about free speech in a thread about our rookie OT? No one is impeding anyone's free speech in this thread. Moreover, freedom of speech has to do with the government not being able to interfere with free speech. It does not apply to privately owned message boards to begin with.

Secondly, some 'draft experts' called it a reach, some did not but it really makes no difference. Our current Pro-Bowl center was called a reach as well and he turned out pretty damn good, if I remember correctly. Green may never be that good or he might but, whatever he turns out to be, a mini-camp in May will not have anything to do with it. He probably has not practiced in months and it is humid as hell outside.

I am so glad the people panicking do not run the team. Dehydration and not being in game shape in frickin' MAY has no bearing on whether this pick was good or not nor on whether Green will be a good lineman in the future.

I can't really remember these young dudes getting sick like this in 80 degree weather, but relax everyone conditioning will take place.

One thing is they are not getting good advice from whoever trains/nutritionist advises them before their pro careers, probably even at Florida he was getting bad regiments.

No one used to report this kind of junk in the past. Happened just as frequently but no one cared or should care. NFL season shouldn't be treated as a year round thing.

Way too early to declare anything on Green other than the fact that it is quite obvious he was out of shape for this camp.
