i wish we could re-do the draft knowing about collins and move up for duke.

Nah, Green will fit in just fine. With Gibson looking to be the swing tackle Green and Collins will replace Leary and Free long term.

Dez and Gregory were top rated prospects, Green was rated one higher than the OL we took in the 7th round. He was a reach. Now that being said that is not the problem, the problem is you think there is no free speech. I have a right to say if I think someone is a bust, and so do you. You might not like Kiper and you may think CBS sports NFL prospects is a joke and you know more than anyone. I on the other hand respect Kiper, CBS sports, and respect the value of free speech.

it's abundantly clear you don't know the difference between an opinion and freedom of speech to say it....no one is denying you the freedom of speech, so I'll say it again, anyone that stats an OPINION that a player is a bust after just two days of orientation camp is ridiculous!

It's doesn't matter what grade Kiper gives a player, the cowboys graded him as a third round pick...If Kiper and the rest of the so-called gurus were so great, they'd be a GM's with an NFL team....and by the way, Kipers draft grades of players are an OPINION, and last time I checked, opinions are like *******s, everyone has one!!

Ugh.

First of all, why are we talking about free speech in a thread about our rookie OT? No one is impeding anyone's free speech in this thread. Moreover, freedom of speech has to do with the government not being able to interfere with free speech. It does not apply to privately owned message boards to begin with.

Secondly, some 'draft experts' called it a reach, some did not but it really makes no difference. Our current Pro-Bowl center was called a reach as well and he turned out pretty damn good, if I remember correctly. Green may never be that good or he might but, whatever he turns out to be, a mini-camp in May will not have anything to do with it. He probably has not practiced in months and it is humid as hell outside.

I am so glad the people panicking do not run the team. Dehydration and not being in game shape in frickin' MAY has no bearing on whether this pick was good or not nor on whether Green will be a good lineman in the future.

Screw liking this - I'm standing and applauding.

Well done.

You got to be kidding me...............our 3rd round pick cant make it through a single walk thru with no pads on and its in the freaking 80s outside.

How out of shape is the guy? Has he been sitting on the couch eating Doritos and binge watching Netflixs since December?

No that was me

Draft is a crap shoot. If three guys from this draft are on the roster and productive after three years, it will be considered a productive draft.

Folks, it's super humid here lately. Tornadoes every day around North Texas. It's tough to run out here right now.

Not really. This just in - you don't know more than the scouts or coaching staff. Not trying to sound mean but your post is far off the mark. They took this kid in the 3rd for a reason.

They took Quincy Carter in the second, too.

Anyway, we'll only know whether Green can play when he plays some meaningful snaps.

so two orientation days in camp from guys who haven't really been working out in probably six weeks and you've concluded he's a bad choice........so under your theory I guess Gregory is a bad choice, he had to leave the field too from dehydration......did you say the same thing when Dez was puking and dehydrated after his first two days as a rookie in orientation camp....

Or when he actually got badly hurt as a rookie and was seen in a bit of rage at the athletic trainer.

The "big uglies" will always be more prone to exhaustion than the others. Give him time to get acclimated and we'll see if he's got what it takes or not. The staff will give him recommendations as to what to do to get himself both acclimated and conditioned. He'll either cut the mustard when the time is right or he won't. Let's be patient.

I think these are more than simple walk through practices. And didn't say how long practice was going on before he left the field. Early is only from one reporters perspective. Maybe he has a bad sense of time. LOL.

Bob McGinn, who has replaced Rick Gosselin as the writer who has the best draft sources and gets his information from actual NFL scouts and personnel people, ranked Green 12th among offensive tackles and had him as about a fourth-round pick. He was the 11th offensive tackle drafted, and we took him near the end of the third round. So if he was a reach, it wasn't a major reach.

Brugler's on record saying the Cowboys nabbed Green about a round early, probably because they didn't think he'd last til their pick in the 4th. He may have been the last swing tackle type they felt could hold down the job. And there was a definite run on OLine. I counted five right before the Cowboys pick in the third, and another five before the next 'Boys pick in the fourth. Good chance they were right in their estimation.

Which doesn't address the obvious false start of proclaiming someone done after two days of the first rookie minicamp.

These guys have been training to have a good combine and pro day. Not to play football and the heat has to be gotten used too.

Green gets assistance getting off the field - STORY @ 11!!!!!

Please, who cares at this stage...and, IMO, I found it surprising that they took him where they did as I thought he would have been around later...but, I have no issues with it as the FO has been knocking it out of the park lately...
