No hes not a FA I believe. But I do suspect that its not worth paying him 3.5 million as a 3-4 end. What that means is we still might see a DL picked somewhat early in day one.

Ellis placed his ego on the back burner and put up one of his best efforts this year.

Consumate professional. He may thrive in another situation and it will be a loss for our team.

I saw a bit on NFL Countdown where he was rallying the troops before the kickoff. He may be a locker room leader here.

If he is gone I hope we can retain Campbell.

I thought he signed a 4 year deal after the 2003 season after his rookie deal, so I would say yes.

Are we able to trade him? I think he would be good for a good RT or G , or at least a 3rd round pick with incentives.

The guy still has trade value and has a career in this league, and for us to keep him would be selfish.

Let the guy play with a team that can use his services, he's not a 3-4 guy. Neither is Glover. This is not popular to the people, but that's the way it is.

ANd yeah, I just heard it on the ticket per "Mickey Spagnola" said they don't feel like he fits in this offense and doesn't feel like he'll be back here next year.

I feel for Greg. He saw what happened to Dex and then with Dat. He still week in and week out put in an honest preformance. I just hope we get some type of value for him.

Ellis will be gone next year and I will hate to see him go. What's interesting is that Ellis lasted one more year in Dallas than Moss lasted in Minessota. It kind of puts in perspective the "Ellis v. Moss" debate these bords have seen over the years.

It's not his place to speculate publicly...

I always liked him, but he has gone back and forth this year on his role with this team...

Just play your arse off, collect your check and ****...

I'm just sayin'...

Ah basically thats what he did. He was showwn the door and still played his but off, before he was benched for no apparent reason.

If Greg leaves, who will babysit Bill Parcells' kids? And what about Terry Glenn? He needs looking after...

All Terry Glenn needs is a map to the local Jack in the Box.

Ellis sounded like he had enough, and says no hard feelings etc, but made it pretty clear that he won't be back.

When asked if "those words" had been spoken to me he hesitated and said well it was quoted that they'd prefer heavier guys at end, and then indicated that it would be his choice as well to be elsewhere by saying "and it's me too" (implying he doesn't want to be back under the circumstances.

He says he doesn't fit and that dropping to 10-15% of the plays told him clearly that his future here is "non-existent". (I'm 90% certain that is what he said).

Sad. Hopefully we can trade him for a mid round draft pick, he's still signed for one more year at least no?

Larry
BP was right about Ellis playing less but being more effective.

Hate to see him go but if he has to.....

He's such a solid player and will contribute to any team. Luckily Canty has looked good, but he isn't the pass rusher Ellis is.

It would be foolish to dump our 4-3 guys if Parcells is leaving.

This guy is a class act. He got benched when he was playing good and didn't throw a fit about it. He was just honest in saying he is not a 3-4 end but still went out and played better than most anyone else on the line. I'll be sad to see him go, but wherever he goes, I will still be a fan of him. I just hope he doesn't go to an NFC East team.

You mean the judgement on Canty is already out while Petitti gets a free ride?
