Greg Ellis **Merged**

i bet glover feels the same way and while we're on the subject, bring back the 4-3 and move spears to tackle and start canty on end.

I don't blame Ellis one bit. Obviously he's not the best fit in the 3-4 and it's clear Spears and Canty are going to be the starters next year and beyond. Ellis is 30 years and old and as he said, you don't go from playing 80% of the snaps to playing 15-20 snaps and not feel like your expendable. He doesn't want to be a back-up at this stage of his career and I can certainly understand that. I don't expect the Cowboys to pay a back-up who plays somewhat minimal snaps $3.5 million a year. Either way, Ellis has had a very nice career in Dallas and I wish him well wherever he plays next year. Class guy.

Greg Ellis for Lavar Arrington!

How about it! :D

...that is a very interesting proposition that could prove to be beneficial for both teams.

The first hurdle I could see is they both play in the same division and one hates to see a division rival improve.

Bold thought!!!

I hope he isn't just released. I hope we can atleast move up in the draft or get an extra pick. Could we get a 4th rounder for him, since we don't have one this year

******** thought.

Don't wan't Arrington, he is a dumb idiot.

Don't want the skins to have Ellis, a very good player.

Petitti was shucked like a used rubber tonight, he may have put Leonard Little in the Hall of Fame!!

Wow, if arrington can play up to his potential here, that trade would be awesome

It's not his place to speculate publicly...

I always liked him, but he has gone back and forth this year on his role with this team...

Just play your arse off, collect your check and ****...

I'm just sayin'...
I agree. But my perception is that Ellis was just trying to force the issue. In 8 years have you ever heard him being quoted as saying anything like that before last off season?

This guy is a class act. He got benched when he was playing good and didn't throw a fit about it. He was just honest in saying he is not a 3-4 end but still went out and played better than most anyone else on the line. I'll be sad to see him go, but wherever he goes, I will still be a fan of him. I just hope he doesn't go to an NFC East team.
We only have 2 now, and they will be gone. I don't think Ware is a 4-3 DE, we have 3-4 personell, and we should build around that for now.

Good thing he is a OLB then I guess huh?

That's too bad.

I remember people were pissed off at Gailey for trying to change the players to fit his offensive philosophy instead of trying to change his philosophy to fit the players he had.

I think the same thing is happening here with Parcells and his defense. We have the players to have a great 4-3 this year but instead he wants to play his 3-4 even though we have average LBs.

I still can't get over taking out either Glover or Ferguson so we can keep Shanle or Fowler in.

Hate to see him to go but he will draw quite a bit of interest in the FA market I suspect.

He's not a good 4-3 LB, he would be owned. His position is 3-4 OLB.

Ware could make plays in the running game, but in the passing game he would get destroyed. He's made to get after the QB, that's what he does.

Don't ask a kittycat to guard your yard.

This is NOT a surprise to me at all....Could see it coming...

We need to trade him to a team for at least a 3rd round pick or a player...
