Greg Ellis **Merged**

It appears Ellis and Glover will both be gone next year. hopefully thomas johnson can rotate with Ferguson. Canty is already a great replacement for Ellis, so I am sure he will be gone.

Ellis was tearing up in the locker room, saying goodbye to some of the media he has known for the majority of his tenure in Dallas. I'll tell ya, I'll miss watching the guy play. Even in a defense he supposedly didn't fit, he nearly set a career high in sacks. Not a flashy player, but a dependable one that has a great attitude.

Well out with the old.

:hammer: Out with the old... in the with the Chris Canty!

Bring on more players who are 3-4 worthy!

Thanks for the memories Greg, even though we all know we should have drafted #84 in that particular draft!

Good luck Greg Ellis! Smell ya later.

Ellis was a great player for us...too bad the Boys don't see the value he brings to the team...

Ellis and Glover are both quality and great players (Glover is great). It's sad seeing them gone, but i'm happy we're moving in the appropriate direction.

Exactly. Greg and LaRoi are very good players, but not the kind of players the Cowboys need for the 3-4 scheme. We are a young defense and these two guys are definitely no spring chickens.

It's time for the Spear's and Canty's of the Cowboys to lead the team, along with a couple of other draft picks and/or young 3-4 free agents.

We're heading in the right direction. Ellis and Glover were nice, but all they helped give us was just another run-of-the-mill team!

People think we stunk because of the 3-4 - We won atleast 7 games because of the 3-4.

Now it's up to the offense to give us atleast 6 wins next year.

Yeah-a couple of more FGs made or a few more blocking assignments NOT blown, we would have Home Field.

Pt being is that when you WIN, you laugh off alot of the silly stuff we do(heck, we would be saying how GREAT Petitti is)-the objectivity just goes OUT the window.

However-when you LOSE, there's 1000's of things to nitpick on.

Ellis is a class guy.
Said he would be leaving on good terms but understands he wnats to play more and team can't pay him what they do to play so little.

He knows he is smallest 3-4 DE in the league and BP hasn't used him at all at OLB so he's basically locked in as a 3rd down pass rusher here.

Again Greg is just an honest, class guy.

Ellis sounded like he had enough, and says no hard feelings etc, but made it pretty clear that he won't be back.
Larry

Can't really say I blame the guy.

Typical Gregg Ellis season. Start off fast, end at a snails pace. He has been a great pro for us and I wish him well.

What did you expect from a guy playing 20% of the time? Seriously.

When he lost playing time our Run D wasn't nearly as good as before.

Oh well. Another good defensive player and locker room leader lost. Another victim of the 3-4. Coakley, Dat and now Ellis all gone in just one year...

Coakley was at the end of the line anyways. Dat got hurt. Let's be fair about it here.

I think it sucks that Ellis is going to leave.

Yeah, BP kept him fresh at the end of the year, then played him less. Look for him as trade bait for Abraham...Then we'll here how Abraham needs a year to adjust to the LB position.

Ellis will get 13 sacks for the Jets next year.
