I never understood the player hate.
One must be a player for it to count. Hayden is not.
I never understood the player hate.
So, the more I hear about this, the more I'm willing to just blindly guess what probably went on. Here's what I think as of right now, which is subject to change when any real info comes out.
I think she and Hardy had a really dysfunctional relationship that revolved mostly around the lifestyle he could delver and sex. It sounds like she was working other angles with other 'boyfriends' and that Hardy didn't like that. Then it boiled over one night (who knows if her other relationship was the start of the argument, or what) at a get-together. It was late night, she'd been taking drugs. He probably had, too. He told her to leave. She refused. He insisted, she refused. Some dramatics and probably some mutual aggression (she slaps him, he shakes her, that sort of thing). She still refuses to leave. He has her arm and is trying for force her to leave, she says he's hurting her and going to break her arm. He says he will break her arm if she won't go. Maybe she throws herself in the tub at one point, he grabs her by her hair/drags her by her hair trying to force her to go. She says she's going to report that he's abusing her over this so far. He throws her on the couch (probably with guns, who knows) and tells her he'll shoot her if she goes to the press. She still won't go (he's her sugardaddy, after all) and eventually flips her business in her coke rage, starts throwing shoes and breaking stuff. He realizes this has gone on way more than it should have, and he calls 911 and tells his manager/PA to restrain her to keep her from making things worse than they are.
She realizes the gig is over. Goes to the press (she didn't think he was really going to kill her). There was evidence of abuse. But her story doesn't check out because she's trying to paint him as the sole aggressor when really he was hurting and threatening her trying to get her to leave. Her flakiness and the problems with her testimony are enough to get to the bench trial, but it's also the cause of her lawyer quitting and the root of some of the inconsistencies between that bench trial and the police report. She's flaky after this (this reputation as a gold digger probably impacts the lifestyle she wants to have fairly dramatically. Hard to fly around sleeping with athletes and musicians when you have an open civil case against your last boyfriend). Hardy offers a quiet settlement to make the problem go away before court and, more importantly, before the start of free agency. She wisely takes it knowing the trial is bad pub for her and knowing that her story is also full of holes and embarrassing details. And, we get what we've got here today.
Which is two really dysfunctional people living really unsustainable lifestyles. One of whom can play football at a very high level but really needs a lot of direction and support.
That's my take on the story, and I"m sticking to it until I hear something that makes me believe otherwise.
Yeah, I was just looking for that report. I think it was from a forum, though, where somebody 'knew' him, so it was mostly hearsay. But it was definitely interesting.
Either way, there's enough dysfunction going on here for everybody to have been in the wrong, as far as I"m concerned.
Everybody knew going in that he is going to be suspended..................the only question is, how many games?
Some say 6, some say 4, some say 2.................nobody really knows for sure, but everybody is in agreement that he will be suspended. This basically is the Ben Rothlisberger rule, where you can be suspended even though no actual criminal charges were ever filed.
For those that don't know, Big Ben was accused of raping a women in the bathroom of a club. He was investigated, but the DA said there was not enough evidence to prosecute so all charges were dropped. The league then suspended him for 6 games, thus the precedent was set that you can be disciplined even if no charges are ever filed.
On Wednesday, just hours after Greg Hardy signed an incentive-laden one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys, the NFL filed another petition in a North Carolina court. The message, whether intentional or not, is that Hardy's disciplinary process did not end when he settled with the alleged victim in a domestic violence case.

That report is from a poster on the black and blue message board. I don't find it credible.
They definitely had an on and off again relationship. I could see the story being at least partially true.
Shes away for the weekend. He moves her stuff out. They fight. They get back together. They fight again. They makeup. Nelly song comes on....yada yada yada......
Sure but its hearsay from a message board poster. I don't care how plausible it is.
I never understood the player hate.
I am really disappointed that the press seems oblivious to the fact the new conduct policy head that was announced over two months ago still hasn't been named and the role of it in all this.
I also fail to understand how the prosecutor failing to cooperate with NFL investigators sheds poorly on Hardy's prospects. This is the guy who was trying to convict him not cooperating not his friend.
They're going to try and stick it to him anyway because Hardy's legal team has the info that they are seeking (through the discovery process) and they aren't playing ball, either.
Where does it say that Hardy or his lawyer is not cooperating?
