DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) – Free agent defensive end Greg Hardy will visit Valley Ranch on Tuesday, Stephen Jones tells 105.3 The Fan.

Jones tells The Fan that the Cowboys are bringing the former Panthers DE to Valley Ranch with the intention of signing him.

Mike Fisher reported yesterday that the Cowboys have “hit accelerator” and are negotiating with the former Pro Bowler.

Hardy was the Panthers’ franchise-tagged player a year ago after recording 15 sacks in 2013, and at 6-foot-4 and 275 pounds and just 26 years old, is an ideal cure to what ails the Dallas defense.

* This is a developing story. Stay with CBSDFW.com and 105.3 The Fan for updates.

Really good news and it will open up the draft to Dallas so much more than if they didn't sign him.

This is what I wanted all along. Spend on DL in free agency and not on Murray. Get the RB in the draft because that spot is so much easier to fill than DE with a rookie

Welp, since Seattle is involved; I'll go ahead and say he'll be wearing a Seahawks jersey next season.

Back to back years in the Superbowl for a contract around the same Dallas will throw at him? Yeah, easy choice.

This sucks.

Well if Seattle gets him ill go ahead and put them back in the Superbowl.

Jimmy Graham and Greg Hardy on that team? Wow

Per OTC. We currently have $5.4mil in cap space. The Seahawks have $14.5mil. Not hard to do when your QB is still playing on his rookie deal.

Yes indeed. They have to expect that this time next year that Wilson will be counting around 20M on the cap.

I hear you, man. So depressing. Let's go find a bridge to jump off of. You first, though, k?

I never look at that stuff because you can change the #'s anytime to get a guy on your roster.

Love it.

If this happens, we are one DT away from having a pretty good dline.

Is Barry Church at the Ranch? He wants this done as much as we do. Tell Jerry what's up, Barry.

We've gone from the ultimate team player now in Philly to a fellow who is facing a multi-game suspension for domestic violence. Sure is a shift in direction in the locker room.

Legitimate point.

Some nastiness is needed on defense and you have to know Stephen and company have done detailed and thorough background checks on this guy.

No state tax in Texas will help. If Jerry, Stephen and Garrett want him, he won't leave Valley Ranch without a contract though. It just comes down to does Dallas want him enough.
