The post I had responded to there hadn't qualified 'when he's healthy.' He's just saying 'at some point.' Which means he thinks Romo will turn into a pumpkin again, regardless, because he doesn't recognize what's actually been keeping us from beating good teams all these years.

Yea, OK, I see that now.

Stop man, .. that is a game we should have won. We all know it.

It sucks to have lost that game.

Had we been 6-1 and lost to Houston or Seattle, or even the Giants, ... it would be understandable.

We took them lightly and it cost us.

of course it is a game we should have won and according to a lot of people Seahawks and Saints were games we were suppose to lose. I hate the fact Dallas botched it vs Washington. I don't know that Dallas took them lightly fact is Washington always tends to play the Cowboys tight, we clearly helped with out with a couple of big turnover and some sloppy play. Only think Cowboys can do now clean it up and get ready for Arz.

Had we lost to any of those teams you mention it isn't understandable either. We should strive to win every game.

We also didn't take Washington lightly. Give them credit they played hard and won.

And what he is trying to say by Pitt losing to Tampa is that stuff happens in this league. Yeah we should have won the game but we didn't. We could have lost to Houston, Seattle, NYG would you be understandable about that if we had lost all of those games and beat Washington.

He's not wrong. We may need to get to 12 wins.

I think it will settle out. It's possible a 10-win team won't make it, but I'm highly doubtful that an 11-win team won't.

There have only been two 11-win teams to miss the expanded playoffs (Denver 1985, New England 2008).

I would submit the view that this team could miss the playoffs without any kind of "choke" job from Garrett. This defense has had question marks from the very beginning and suspect depth, add in a few injuries and it's not a stretch to see things going south with our tough late season schedule.

He's probably right, at some point we're going to have to depend on Romo to win games, and we've seen what happens in the past when that's the case.

Things go bad when we play terrible defense and refuse to run the ball week in and week out. Romo has thrown some bad INTs and made some bad decisions at critical times, but in many cases his team wouldn't have even been in those games if Romo hadn't dragged it there. The idea that "you can't depend on Romo to win games" is wrong, in my opinion. I'll agree that he's not Peyton manning and can't carry a team week in and week out. But if you need a QB to make things happen on those occasions when not much else is working, Romo has proven he's way more than capable. Hell, he got a team with an all-time bad defense and no running game to 8-8 and within one win of the playoffs last year.

A little red meat...
Dallas won't make the playoffs

It's not quite as bold as you think because the NFC playoff picture is wildly crowded. Ten wins might not be enough to make the playoffs, and this is a rare season year where an eleven win team could be left out. I still see the Eagles as the best team in the NFC East and will take their chances of exposing the soft spots in the Cowboys' defense. If Philadelphia wins the NFC East, two of the following teams miss the tournament: Green Bay, Detroit, Seattle, San Francisco, Dallas, and Arizona. It's not that crazy to imagine the Cowboys being one of those two teams, especially with a top-heavy roster with very little pass rush. -- Gregg Rosenthal

I dont buy what he's selling. If we keep riding Murray we'll make the playoffs. We might need Romo to "win" a playoff game, but we are good enough to get in if we stick with the running game and the defense improves with the guys we're getting back. I also dont get the Philthy love. They looked very beatable vs Arizona and did lose after all. They're not elite like Denver is.

Just today I read where one guy thinks Dallas is going to Super Bowl with Weeden and now we read they won't even make playoffs. Wanna bet they end up somewhere in middle.

And what exactly is the middle?

11 wins will get us in. 10 will be questionable.

I still have my doubts about the Lions. They have won some games they had no business winning. Atlanta tried everything possible to blow that game last week.

So have the Cowboys and every other team in the NFL.

Hate crap like this. You could say this about any team and if he's right he'll say 'see look I told you' but when it doesn't happen he won't say 'see look I was wrong' instead he'll just remain silent and hope we forget.

Typical contrarian, just saying something shocking for the shock value. Ask him to put money on it and let's see if he changes his tune.

The gaping hole in his argument of needing a ton of wins to get in is that he leaves Dallas out and then puts the 3 win Giants in.
And BTW, no chance an 11 win team gets left out.
No way.
Not saying Dallas will win 11, just speaking truth.
