Gregg Rosenthal: Cowboys Won't Make Playoffs

Gregg, I predicted the same thing in he preseason.
Then mein Cowboys won 6 games. Come over to Farmers Branch and eat with us, where crow is served with a side of humility and one of gratitude.
No matter what the Boys do this season, they have exceeded my expectorations. the defense half showed heart and the offense has played well as expected.

What's ridiculous is the Eagles has exactly the same issues as us. How anyone can proclaim them the best team in the NFC East at this point is beyond me.

According to playoffstatus.com, if we finish 11-5, we have a 98 percent chance of making the playoffs (and 65 percent chance of winning the division). There is no NFC team that has less than a 97 percent chance of making the playoffs at 11-5. So no, this will not be the year that an NFC team goes 11-5 and misses the playoffs.

Also, according to that site, we have as much chance of missing the playoffs at 11-5 as we do of making the playoffs at 8-8.

If we miss the playoffs after starting 6-1, Garrett should not even bother getting on the plane in Washington. No way in hell Jerry could give him an extension after an epic collapse like that. In the 55 year history of the franchise, no team that started 6-1 or better failed to make the playoffs.

We are talking the biggest choke job in franchise history, you think Jerry can call a press conference and announce a new deal for Garrett after that?

Losing at home to the skins could be the start of that epic collapse.

Until 8 wins is in the rearview, I'm not hating on predictions of a playoff-less season. Dallas looked like the cowboys of the past 3 years against the skins and this is a week to week deal with the talking heads. I love the cowboys start but I'm not certain of playoffs either. Hoping for heavy dose of demarco against arizona but a loss there and this zone will be full of 100 rosenthals. I believe in them as long as linehan doesn't catch the Garrett flu.

They never are held accountable for things they say.
They should be.

The unknown is Demarcus Lawrence. if can come in and consisntly get pressure, the defense won't be so easy to pick on. The offense is fine. The defense needs to tackle and get pressure.

Hope he can contribute, but also isn't this his first regular season game ?

If he's able to at least provide some pressure/knockdowns/hurries that will be a plus

We're still rock solid in a few areas. We just need a healthy romo and a blitz beating package of plays. There's collapse potential But the meat of the team Is still really good and that should carry us

of course it is a game we should have won and according to a lot of people Seahawks and Saints were games we were suppose to lose. I hate the fact Dallas botched it vs Washington. I don't know that Dallas took them lightly fact is Washington always tends to play the Cowboys tight, we clearly helped with out with a couple of big turnover and some sloppy play. Only think Cowboys can do now clean it up and get ready for Arz.

Even our 90's SB winners had problems with the skins. NFC East games are mini SB's to our opposition.

So we still have a 69% chance of making the playoffs. A win against AZ and we again are in the driver's seat for the #1 seed.

Just today I read where one guy thinks Dallas is going to Super Bowl with Weeden and now we read they won't even make playoffs. Wanna bet they end up somewhere in middle.

Oh, but the Red homers already have the excuses ready. Romo's back. Injuries. Lack of depth and the Process is still in the works just needing a lil more time. It was a brilliant coaching job getting this defense to over achieve (even if it collapses) and that is proof of Coach Wonder's brilliance, etc. We could finish 6-10 and the Red homers would be tooting his horn and calling for a 10 year contract.
