My son suffers from anxiety issues. He's 20 now. We've dealt with it his whole life. The side effects of his legal medicine are terrifying. The fact that pot is illegal EVEN FOR MEDICAL USE is insane. It appears, if what we read is true, Gregory uses it for medical reasons.

I would love it if the kid could come back and play. I'd love it if he could play for us. More importantly, I hope he ends up OK. I am not terribly hopeful that the NFL won't continue to be the morality police going forward. As long as they are, it looks like a long shot for Gregory to ever play a significant amount of time. It's a shame. It's a shame for the NFL. It's a shame for the Cowboys. It's a shame for the fans. It's a shame for Gregory.

I honestly ask, is it worth it? Does he give us anything Lawrence or Tapper or anybody doesn't?

What does tapper give us?

Gregory has probably already failed another drug test or will soon fail one once he is reinstated.

Hopefully we can get another 2 or 3 quarters of play before he gets suspended again.

Daddy, what did you do back when you played for the Dallas Cowboys?
Well, son, I really don't remember I was suspended most of the time so things are a little too smokey to remember.

The medication Tramadol has similarities to anti-depressants.

Tramadol is an opiod that has been found to possess the following actions:7
Serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SRI) and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (NRI); hence, an SNRI. Similar to the antidepressant Effexor.
Just because it has an action on a receptor doesn’t mean it’s the standard of treatment for a disorder. One could prescribe a medication because of an added benefit it possesses outside of primary effect but most of what you’re trying to change should be tied to primary action. A zpak has a nice anti-inflammatory action but if it doesn’t work against a bug it’s mostly placebo.

Agree we need to free Randy, and don't want to compare pee streams, but check the latest news.

Opioids are beginning to be routinely prescribed for depression and mood disorders. I'm part of a group helping analyze the results of a study looking into the use of opioids for a variety of mood disorders. My area of input is mostly related to my experience as an endurance athlete. The body produces endorphines during extended activity, which is one natural brain opioid which absolutely affects moods in a positive way.

We're not exactly sure why or how, but there are many other opioids produced in the brain which have similar effects. The key in a healthy individual is that the body produces these substances in a way which allows the body's various opioid receptors to regulate mood and anxiety.

Those with depression and/or severe disorders seem to have problems with either overly reactive or non-reactive receptors. Since opioids in general tend to enhance or suppress one or more of these types of these receptors, it's becoming clear why opioids work to help with mood and anxiety, but since each individual is unique there is no one "cocktail" which works universally. And of course the addictive nature of any opioid makes using them a risky proposition.
That’s interesting. If it’s research all bets are off, that can go whatever direction the group is going. I’m betting it’s more likely that common things are common and Gregory is just a bipolar that is only interested in doing things his way. Those types of patients are common.

I agree to an extent. I believe they can/should test during games, because if you are impaired while playing there could be serious repercussions and then the NFL is liable for the injuries. Businesses should have the ability to protect themselves from liability.
Ha,like Lawrence Taylor admitted after the fact that they smoked crack during the game on the bench ,or maybe it was at halftimeo_O

I put this guy in the category of a Rolando McClain... Out of sight, out of mind. Time to cut ties with him.

I would recommend CBD for Gregory. The very clean version that has no THC. It could help him and he would pass NFL drug test.

Doubt it. Good luck even finding a pharmacy that would fill such a prescription in good faith.

He already went to intensive rehab a couple times last year

Rehab is SUCH b.s. They do nothing for you there except keep you away from whatever substance you enjoy using and tell you the only way to stay off of it is asking for help from The Invisible Deity In The Sky.

the only negative thing in my mind regarding Gregory being mentioned with Dallas, is that he is holding up the #94...I expect to see that being worn on 3rd down situations later in the year by one Mr Ware...

...I hope that Gregory can make it back...with all of the nodding of heads regarding the DL improvement (and more to come after the Rams game with the return of Irving), adding a healthy/reinstated Gregory would get more heads nodding in agreement

Tramadol gives me a gnarly headache after I take it complete with nausea and laying flat on my back useless the entire next 24 hours.

Ugh.

pipe dream (pun intended)

Goodell will deny the request out of spite from Zeke's appeal and the subsequent legal battle that is now taking place, and in which, the NFL is losing so far.

Ugh.
It solved my restless legs syndrome and I discovered it by accident after a Dentist gave it to me.

It's interesting how the effects of meds vary so widely from person to person.

Things like hydrocodone have near zero effect on me. I have no idea how people get a buzz from it.

Yes, my stepson was in and out of rehab the past year and half and they really don't do much other than make certain they can't get drugs there. They push them to talk but it's not really intense counseling by professionals like I expected.

He finally went to something similar to a boys tanch and they really seem to be getting through to him by focusing on big picture life skills instead of just talking about drugs.

Good luck with your boy, he's lucky to have you.

If he can do anything at this point, I’m fine with it. I’ve moved in from him ever being a starter and a perennial piece.
