I hate to be that guy (not really because I'm doing it anyway) but who here is actually confident that come Nov 6th we won't hear that he failed another test.

edit: And even *if* he's reinstated, does anyone actually think he'll be in shape enough to contribute?
I fear that on Nov 6th the league will rule against us cuz Cowboys

If we get this guy back, by the mid-late end of next season, we will have two potential pro-bowlers at the ends.

Gregory is fire. Gregory is a potential elite, All-Pro right end
Trouty, I love your enthusiasm about the guy. I really do, but I just have huge doubts he will ever reach his enormous potential due to lacking will power to stay away from the wacky weed. I hope he does but I am not counting on it. The man does have ALL of the tools to be elite. All he needs to do is get his head screwed on right.

I can almost guarantee this headline will appear BEFORE he is eligible for reinstatement:

Breaking news: Randy Gregory rumored to have failed another drug test. Faces banishment from NFL.
I would be absolutely shocked if he has been clean since January.

I severely doubt it.

It would not surprise me in the least if we do indeed see this headline

Trouty--- I really like Randy Gregory and i love his play on the field...i hope like heck we can get him back...but i thought i heard he had failed yet again another test and that would nullify the one year rule and begin the "who knows maybe forever" rule?
I heard the same.

I also heard that when the NFL officials tried to talk to him, Gregory threw them out of the house and refused to talk to them.

I have no idea if it is true or not though.

If the Cowboys ever get anything out of Gregory, it'll be a bonus. He can't be counted on at this point.

Yep....he is. People can rant and rave, huff and puff (pun intended on the 'puff') but the fact is, he's wildly talented. He's also not very old and has NO major injuries. When is he eligible for free agency? I've lost track due to all his suspensions. I'd be beside myself if the Gspots or Foreskins swoop in and sign him to a long term, incentive laden deal. He then stays clean and becomes an all pro performer. It's in him, if he can stay straight.

Hang in there, Trouty, and fight the good fight. I am with you on this. Believe it or not, my very first post was on RG and substance abuse. RG isn't stupid or loathsome or lacking conviction. Presuming he has followed a sound treatment plan, he will be a welcome and impactful addition to the Cowboys.

Me too. Weed? We talkin' about WEED here...it's beyond ridiculous. Sad and ridiculous.
