At this point you have to go all defense in free agency and draft.

The 2 actually go hand in hand i have a relative who deals with this, and i was wrong to actually say marshall conquered it. I should have said learn to control and manage it since bi-polar /manic depression is more of a chemical imbalance in the body.

You'd know better than I would, then, but I wouldn't ordinarily assume BPD and bi-polar disorder are necessarily linked. We're also assuming what Gregory is dealing with is bi-polar disorder, right? Nobody's actually come out and said it, they've just alluded to the health issue numerous times.

No, they'll just destroy his kidneys and/or liver. But hey.

He is not going to smoke weed and play in the NFL, I think any idiot can figure that out. Making lame ars excuses for him to smoke is not going to work he even knows that. As for your medical claims? You may have stayed at a holiday inn express but you medical knowledge is very much lacking

I'm sorry but this guy is going to bust. He hasn't play any ball really in two years.
I'm pretty sure we're already past the bust point when he has almost as many drug busts as career tackles.

I agree. Weed is not the solution it is not some cure all there are other medications he can take that will not get him suspended.

It isn't a simple "take this pill and you are better" deal. Not every treatment works for every person. Maybe he should just be an alcoholic, that'd be fine with the league.

They are very similar but their are differences. I never heard about him being bi polar until i saw it mentioned in this thread. Here is an article on the difference between the 2

Yes it is not that simple smoke weed and you are better? BS it is a lame ars excuse. It is not a fricken cure all as some of you like to claim. There are other things he can take to help and their is treatment and support he can get. Fact is if he smokes weed he will get booted out of the league plain and simple so he has a choice to make he knows it yet many of you don't get it

Dude is probably cooked mentally and physically. Having an addiction serious enough to take yourself out of this opportunity with less than 1 year in the league?
I would give him less than a 10% chance he's ever on the an NFL payroll again. Hard to figure what he's thinking.

Well great. I can hear it now going into next season, "we basically have 2 1st round picks that we will finally get to see in Jaylon and Randy", "we don't need to go after any top FA's, just fill in holes!!! What a load of crap.

After watching Hitchens and company almost screw it up yesterday I'm reminded, did they really think that this defense was good enough for Romo to make a SB?? Are that that naive, or did they not think they could make it there regardless? I want a new staff here to groom Dak and Zeke.

Lucky for us we rarely if ever miss in the second round. Our depth should be just fine.....

Really? You do realize that at least 50% of the players are actively smoking weed, don't you? There is a very small window in which the NFL tests for recreational drugs, about a two-month period I believe, and the league basically lets all NFL players know when that testing is going to take place. Beyond that? The players can smoke as much as they want without fear of getting busted...

...and believe me, they do. In fact, this article came out just today about this very issue...

But hey, I'm sure you knew all that, right? FWIW, I think Gregory is an irresponsible idiot for letting it get to this stage.

He had a 4 game suspension originally, but failed another test...which wouldve got him up to 10 more weeks, but the league never ruled on the additional 10...but he had an appeal in for the 10 he was facing...now all of the sudden he withdraws the appeal....so go figure

Gee, millions of people with mental health issues self medicate with alcohol and/or weed. Yet it doesn't work for them?

And stop with the "he has a choice bs." Everyone has a choice, but when you have a mental illness you tend not to make good decisions - because, your brain - that thing you use to make decisions with - is sorta screwed up, ill even.

You can't seem to get past your own prejudices that mental illness is not a real illness.

I'm assuming withdrawing the appeal is a way to accept blame for what's going on. Even if he missed the test and didn't technically fail it because he was in recovery, he would have failed it had he taken it.

He can't act like the victim. Just accept the penalty and try to grow from it. I hope he does
