Probably contingent on his rehab. He leaves or fails, 10 games. He completes it and passes, 4 games.

My guesd

Like the NFL is gonna cut us a break....Never gonna happen. That would be setting a precedence for the rest of the league to complain. If anything...Goodell is gonna drop the hammer and tack on 10 to the 4 already. Just plan on Gregory never playing for us again.:banghead:

I think what is at play is 10 vs. 14 (original 4 + 10 more). If he succeeds in rehab, he gets the 10.

I still lol at rehab for weed!

He doesn't need rehab, he needs a psychiatrist to figure out his mental illness.
He'll probably be prescribed a stronger more addictive "legal" drug to deal with his anxiety or whatever he has. The league needs to amend their policy to exclude canabis from it's banned substances like it is in the NBA. Vicodin is 10 times more dangerous and a bigger gateway drug and they take em like M&M's.

How many times did he test positive after we drafted him? Twice? Three times? He not only let himself down he let the team down, let alone the fans. If he were to never play for the 'Boys again it wouldn't bother me one bit.

That's basically where I fell after the last failed test. It was a risk, it was worth taking, but it hasn't worked out at least not so far.

in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter. no training camp and no preaseason and he's can't workout at the facility for fourteen weeks is just as devastating as ten weeks. I predict 0 snaps for him this year, when the suspension is up, the team will find some agreed upon legal way for him to not count towards the roster and to still get either 6 or 4 game checks.

edit: if we're lucky and the second pop was for leaving rehab and by completing rehab it stays at 4, then maybe he'll be able to contribute this year, but even then I doubt it.

The idea of allowing a 2nd round pick to become a total bust so fast goes against what Jerry's ego can permit. Hence, he gets a free pass.

Dude, get a life! It's NOT a character issue, it's a medical issue. He's battling a medical issue that he treats with marijuana rather than the far more dangerous prescription drugs the league is mandating him to take. I completely sympathize with his plight.

Would not be too optimistic. Never even showed up to camp. How much help will he be if he's out of shape and super rusty?

I recall Gregory being decent in camp and getting sacks in preseason games. Before he got hurt, I had high hopes (no pun) for him last year.

In order for this defense to significantly improve, I think we're at least a year out and then some luck really has to come our way in the draft, health and free agency.

I think two out...one to get the talent...one to learn the system...

The problem with waiting 2 or more years, who's to say where the health of our OLine and receivers will be. The NFL is so volatile you can feel great about one part of the organization while rebuilding the other and its contracts and injuries everything goes 180 degrees in q different direction.

So did I but he's not someone we should expect very much from this season.

Yep. And the golden boy, Farve, was hooked on them too. Where was the suspension then?

The NBA stopped testing for weed because their image was being tarnished as thugs because everyone was/is smoking.

Dude, I have a life and it's just fine. Go ahead and be the enabler, just don't expect everybody else to be that weak.

If Gregory has taught us anything, it is that we need to stop gambling early in the draft......we can't go back and change the Mo trade, the DLaw trade, the TFred trade or the Lee pick, the Carter pick or the Gregory pick or the JSmith pick......but we are too cavalier with our top drat picks....doubles and triples are better than the occcasional HR and a lot of strikeouts

If we want to gamble then we need to stick to late draft picks or UDFAs with a history or cheap FAs like Melton or McClain that can be discarded easily..... I am hopeful of the JSmith pick but we paid a high price on a big risk.....maybe if he falls to the 4th but thats it......a guy like Collins that fell to UDFA is the type of guy to waste a late pick on or go hard after with signing bonuses like RLeary....most late picks don't work out ,so that is where you take the big gambles......we try to get cute late and draft projects but we should shoot for good players with red flags

Just wondering why TFred is included? Do you see that as a bad pick?
