At least "Dez with all his brain cells" gave the Jags fans a few productive games on his way out.

Hopefully for the kid's sake he takes the treatment seriously and gets whatever help he needs for any mental health issues that may exist as well. He's still young so there is still time for him to get his life on track.

I think it depends on circumstances. But not for sure, just a little of what I know about it.
If one volunteers to go in, they can set a certain length of time. 30 days, 60, whatever. Also they may be able to leave when they want if they don't agree to a length of time, but probably is a minimum amount of time regardless, like 2 weeks as a huge guess.

If court or otherwise ordered. It can be 1 month, or even 6 months regardless of any progress.
I feel that somehow Gregory can be released around the time he is eligible to play.

Dang, its rough to kick Marijuana. He may need a year or two.

I agree, I have seen people struggle with stopping smoking. An addiction is an addiction, for some breaking habits and or addictions is much harder than others.

I think that is relative. Your average pot head struggles with quiting for minimal reward. This is a large reason why they dont quit. If most of the people Ive known had the chance to quit and become multi millionaire athletes they would quit. But quiting to go work at Lowes or to stop pissing off your girlfriend really just isnt that motivating.

Life in the NFL is short so he needs to act together this year and be ready for 2017 !!

I highly doubt he ever plays another down for the Cowboys..............yet another 2nd rounder pissed away.

Seriously, in like the last 10 years we have like one guy drafted in the 2nd round that turned out to be a stud (Sean Lee).

Only if you're checked in against your will. If it's voluntary, then I believe you get out when you say you want out.

Is it official that he will get the 10 game suspension? Is there a possibility that he may only serve a 4 game after he gets out of rehad?

I was poking fun at the rehad comment in the quote above but your point is well taken.

I think that the league would be sending a good message to not extend it to 10 games if he legitimately completes rehab. If he gets out of rehab early and they were thinking about 10 games, then hit him with it.

This.

We've had enough disappointment by counting on him at all. Correct that mistake and make him prove it. Proceed as if he will never play again and anything you get will be a pleasant surprise. Proceed as if you're counting on him and you'll only be further disappointed.

He had bust written all over his face at the draft.
We signed him and acted like we won the lottery.

Lol i didn't want to have to go here but FYI, I am a recovering addict/alcoholic n have been struggling with addiction for the better part of 10 years. My main vice has been opiates, started w sniffing oxycodone 30s during the first few ignorant years n then shifted to heron aka Satans Cinnamon lol, just my personal nickname.

Why? Bc well, the feeling a line and ESPECIALLY A shot of Heroin is literally the greatest, most euphoric feeling a human can experience- sex included.

N idk bout y'all, but if u were tu first experiment w a substance not knowibg wat to expect n then find out that it literally feels better than sex physically n then feel like ur the king of the universe mentally n emotionally, ya think it's easy to just cut it off n never do it again?

N obv no1 goes into it thinking they'll b a junkie ( like yours truly) and THAT is where 99% of ppl fail n become inhuman monsters.

THIS is why I'm convinced that Heroin is no more Than a case of The Devil playing his games n working his Trickery on us poor sods....

As Fr Reefer, I started smoking in 9tg grade and was smoking every day from age 14 to 23 before I quit, n u kno why I chose to quit? BECAUSE I WAS GETTING RIDICULOUSLY PARANOID WITH HEAVY ANXIETY...so i am DEFFF not saying Weed helps relieve ones anxiety.

I'm saying if Randy Gregory believes Reefer helps his psychological condition (which I read ON HERE that it was something that dealt him serious anxiety, hence y I brought up the benzos...), then I'd much rather him smoke a harmless natural herb over taking an addictive, schedule 2 level controlled substance that can be fatal if the user tries to cut themselves off the benzos after long term, heavy usage...

I would much rather see him not be dependent on anything. I want to see him get his life in order not make up excuses for why he needs to get high. Bottom line is if he intends on playing in the NFL he needs to get clean and stay clean. As for his time with the Cowboys, Dallas must have players they can depend on not wonder is this the year he gets popped again for drugs, you can't run a team that way. My hope is he can take this opportunity to get help and get his life in order so that he can make the most of a god given talent that many of us would give anything to have.

It is all on him, we can make all the excuses in the world but it does not change the reality of the situation.

If Gregory has taught us anything, it is that we need to stop gambling early in the draft......we can't go back and change the Mo trade, the DLaw trade, the TFred trade or the Lee pick, the Carter pick or the Gregory pick or the JSmith pick......but we are too cavalier with our top drat picks....doubles and triples are better than the occcasional HR and a lot of strikeouts

If we want to gamble then we need to stick to late draft picks or UDFAs with a history or cheap FAs like Melton or McClain that can be discarded easily..... I am hopeful of the JSmith pick but we paid a high price on a big risk.....maybe if he falls to the 4th but thats it......a guy like Collins that fell to UDFA is the type of guy to waste a late pick on or go hard after with signing bonuses like RLeary....most late picks don't work out ,so that is where you take the big gambles......we try to get cute late and draft projects but we should shoot for good players with red flags

Its classic Jerry Jones. He really wants to prove he is a real football man and can find gems that no one else can see. These high risky draft picks have killed the club for years. Not only that...what other team invests 3 or 4 first round picks in the OL. I am not complaining about the present OL it is the best in the NFL. But it didnt come cheap. The clubs draft stategy in the last 20 yrs as been baffling to many.

The OL just proves the point....... a lot of people say never draft a C or a OG in the first but they were boring, solid picks.... we could have had Johnny Manziel and Matt Elam or Shariff Floyd instead....ugh ....we kind of lucked into the best OL in the NFL despite ourselves or JJ..... Collins was a pure luck based on having TSmith and the gang

Yes. I like the players that were drafted. Best OL in the business. Just expensive and an odd stategy. I was certain that ole Jerry boy was going to pick Manziel...lol...he must have been sober that day.
