5-1 as a starter while barely throwing for 100 yards. He played solid ball but can we please stop tossing up that 5-1 as if he tossed the ball all around the yard.

If that's the case, according to your logic..... Trent Dilpher is a better quarterback than Marino and Jim Kelly because he is 1-0 in the Superbowl.

I assume you believe Dilpher was a better quarterback than Kelly and Marino because they failed to win a Superbowl huh.....
Wow, that's a lot of assumptions out of my statement there. He is 5-1 because he does not turn the ball over and played well within himself and the offense and did not put the defense in bad positions. That does not mean he is a better QB but that is what you want from your backup. Would love to have two dynamic starters for your offense but that does not happen in the NFL. Grier has been known for bad decisions and Lance is just not a good QB at this point!

Grier could still end up on the PS.

TL isn’t ready.

And we need a QB4 until then.

I think you underestimate how bad the QB talent is in the league.
Not really, we’ve seen plenty of quality preseason performances by QBs who never amount to anything. He’s still a 28 year old QB with no real game experience. He ‘might’ be on some teams radar for a 3rd spot, but I highly doubt anyone shows interest for a backup spot.

Sure and I have seen a ton that were much worse than Grier.

I LOVE how yall keep talking about turnovers. Dak had ONE year of bad turnovers and yall hang on to that as if he was a perennial turnover machine like Matt Stafford or something.

It's so hilarious that yall use that one bad year out of his career and try to paint it like that's how he's been his whole career.

What in the crap are you talking about? I was not talking about Dak and turnovers at all. I was talking about 2nd QB's and turnovers exclusively. I want a number 2 who manages the offense and does not turn the ball over. I have a chance to win with that guy if my number 1 goes down.

There you are again putting words in my mouth. You really are something!

You're right. I won't put words in your mouth. But someone stole your account and mentioned turnovers.

With that said, Rush is a career backup for a reason.

The toughest time in the NFL:

Please pick up your playbook and report to the coach.

And every football player understands. Even before he reaches the coach's office, he knows that his dedicated young life, all that he has loved so much, is over. Football is done, and there is no place to go. You are cut.

So you saw turnovers and associated that with Dak? That's on you! We were always talking about backups

This was the original quote you responded to...... "And yet he is 5-1 as a starter. He is your backup just because he plays well within the offense"

Of course he didn't turn the ball over because he is pretty much a dink and dunker and nothing is wrong with that. He played within himself, but he barely averaged over 100 yards passing per game. That's not good enough as a full time starter in the NFL on a consistent basis when defensive coordinators start game planning you and that's why Rush faltered vs the Eagles and threw 3 interceptions.

It's levels to this...

Rush is a solid serviceable back up and nothing more. I'm glad to have him as a solid back up when needed.

100% agree.

Lance has a horrible sidearm with a hitch and elbow tucked too close type of throwing motion that likely contributes to his many misthrows. That's not including his struggles to read defenses better and inability to accurately throw the ball into tight windows. He literally needs receivers to be wide open.

Will Grier showed tonight he is the complete opposite of Trey Lance. Grier was lights out! Better than Cooper Rush. If Cowboys let Grier go, I feel it's going to be a big mistake.

Grier is done. Nobody is picking him up. If next year we need some guy to beat some 3rd stringers in preseason Jerry will give him a call. Maybe Rush can call the plays next year.

Grier will be picked up. I’ve seen much worse QB’s last longer.
