Grind House" - noun - A downtown movie theater - in disrepair since its glory days as a movie palace of the '30s and '40s - known for "grinding out" non-stop double-bill programs of B-movies. From groundbreaking directors Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez comes the ultimate film experience: a double-bill of thrillers that will recall both filmmakers' favorite exploitation films. "Grind House" will be presented as one full-length feature comprised of two individual films helmed separately by each director. Tarantino's film, Death Proof, is a rip-roaring slasher flick where the killer pursues his victims with a car rather than a knife, while Rodriguez's film explores an alien world eerily familiar to ours in Planet Terror. Welcome to the grind house - it'll tear you in two.

Anyone looking forward to this?

Personally, I can't wait to see this. I love Quentin T.'s films, hence the awesome avatar. i haven't seen much of Rodriguez' work except for Sin City (which I liked).

There are a good deal of funny scenes.

Cheech's telling people what is for sale and how much still makes me laugh:laugh2

I kind of liked the idea of Cheech playing three different characters as well.

The characters are over the top and funny...like sex machine and his special gun. Who was played by great horror special effects guru Tom Savini.

Or the seen where Santanico Pandemonium (Salma Hayek) comes out dancing with hat snake...high five sexy time (borat voice).

There are just some great lines in the movie as well.

Oh and Robert Rodriquez was in the band Tito and the Tarantulas...the ones that were playing at the bar.

I don't recall seeing one of his movies that I did not like.

I just know it will be an entertaining movie with good communication between characters.
I know there will be over the top action and intense scenes.

I also like how he pays homage to a great deal of older films. Some having scenes that were almost identical to scenes in older movies (the big fight in the japanese bar in Kill Bill being one).

I just know that it will not be a snooze fest with his movies even if they are over the top and sometimes B-Like violence.

Now M.Night S...he is a guy that runs hot and cold for me. Some movies of his I really like, others bore me to death.

I'm looking forward to it. There's nothing wrong with using your imagination...I think sometimes people forget that.

Imagination is one thing he uses a lot of the same stuff over and over. Just like that fight scene mentioned above from the movie Kill Bill he used in the movie The Protector.

Quentin Tarantino is like the band U2. When they were starving they were great, but now that hollywood has taken hold they leave something to be desired.

I saw a screening of Grind House last week. You have to take these movies for what they are as grind house style movies filled with violence and sex.

Tarantino's DEATH PROOF is alright but it is not as good as PLANET TERROR.

Rodriguez out shines Tarantino in every way.

I've actually seen varying reports on which movie the critics enjoyed better. I enjoyed Planet Terror slightly more, but the group I was with liked DeathProof a lot better. This movie was just a fun experience. The fake trailers in between were lawleriffic.

Planet Terror was great. The fake previews were hilarious. Death Proof was slow and a bit disappointing. He tried to inject some Jackie Brown into it along with too much Reservoir Dogs diner type dialog.

It was ok. Neither film was anything special. The 'Thanksgiving' trailer was easily the best part of the movie.

My wife and I saw it earlier tonight and really enjoyed it. Neither movie was great, but we had a lot of fun.

But keep in mind two things - 1) I'm a big fan of Rodriguez and to a lesser extent Tarantino, and 2) we saw this at a Studio Grill where we ordered dinner with chips and salsa.

This was the first movie in the history of cinema I have ever walked out of.

Specifically, death proof.
