The components are there for a strong rushing attack. But the passing game will also still have to be on point. People forget, we converted a very high % of 3rd downs in 2014. And they weren't all 3rd & short.

I agree. But featuring the run more this year will serve us extremely well.

Sure if we get a consistent pass rush and our secondary isn't trailing every receiver for a touchdown.

Fresh legs. They won't be on the field as often. I fully expect the defense to benefit from the lower number of plays.

I don't want a ground and pound offense because I want this team to win.

If you really want what they had in 2014, they had a balanced offense in terms of playcalling. They ran the ball well, but they scored a lot of points. A high scoring offense that runs the ball great will make for a dangerous team. A ground and pound offense that scores 20 points a game doesn't accomplish much.

It was indeed balanced. That's what I have always preached. But the run game component has always carried a high percentage and stood on it's own by wearing opposing defenses down. We will have a strategically balanced offense that will clearly feature the run. Everyone will forget about 2015 and our science project of a rbbc.

I didn't forget about 2015. And our RBBC worked.

We just didn't have anything in terms of a passing game since Romo and Dez were out.

And if we don't have anything in terms of a passing game in 2016, we're not going to win either.

Ground and pound is more of a determining factor in wins and loses.

Ground and pound is what you do in the 4th quarter once you have a sizable lead and need to kill time. It's demoralizing to the defense and often breaks the will of your opponent. It's not a plan of attack for entire games week after week.

True but all out passing has not served this team. When the Cowboys show balance their offense is producing. I doubt the Cowboys used the 4th overall on Zeke to wait until late in the game to use him, nor did the 90's with Smith who had more carries in the 1st half of games than in the 2nd half of games

I think passing is critical for any team and I think for many the use of the run game makes it work more effectively since defense can't key on any 1 thing.

This seems to be the one of the longest running debates around here. I don't think all running is going to win game nor do I think all passing will win games. This team has always been at it's best when we run and pass effectively.

Balance is the key. It always has been. We now have it back. We had zero balance last year.
